A lesson in futility
Anonymous (Current Employee) –  USAAugust 31, 2015
If the constant threat of losing your job, freezing your pay and daily vulgarity laced screaming is your thing then working for this company is your dream job.

The ownership and management is comprised of arrogant tyrants who would rather lead by causing panic, fear and sheer chaos rather than foster a constructive culture of openness built upon mutual respect. It’s a leadership style that permeates through the entire company—creating a negative organizational sub-culture that institutes pessimism, emotional distress and poor self-esteem.

Many company policies are made on the fly to deter independent decisions/thinking yet you’re left to largely figure out the inner workings without a hint of support. Beware of bait-and-switch tactics after you’ve been hired and consign any thoughts about having a life outside working hours, which mind you can be literally 24hrs/day. When you’re hired be prepared to become a slave of the company, which is worth no amount of money they may be willing to offer.

Management consistently walks a fine line between legal and ethical rights, forget about moral rights, and if you’ve worked within this organization for a year, you’re considered a veteran as most don’t last nearly this long. As an aside, their contractual engagements with the companies they service typically last about the same time. It’s surprising companies would consider/continue working with Photon unless there is an existing relationship with someone in the head office.

Employees are often berated in front of their peers using language generally reserved for sailors.
more... Firings have occurred in the presence of colleagues much the same manner and are usually without plausible circumstance.

The HR department writes bogus positive reviews to deceive would be candidates into thinking the company is one of the best you’ll ever work. They’ll tell you they’re a U.S. company but that couldn’t be further from the truth, as the core operation is maintained offshore. The reality is they are an offshore development company that services U.S. clientele.

At this point it probably goes without saying, unless you are absolutely desperate for a job and love to feel inferior, I wouldn’t give this company a second thought. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere, it’s not worth your livelihood. Consider yourself warned.

Creative (Current Employee) –  USAJuly 15, 2015
If you like long hours, broken business processes, and incompetent management, then this place is for you. But wait, there's more. They will also give you a poor benefits package and a 401k with no company matching. Who does that by the way? Photon does because they don't care. All joking aside, this places is a horrible place to work especially if you're a creative. Don't be fooled by the positive reviews, my guess is most are dummy postings created by the HR team in India. Any person that has worked here more than a few days would know they are complete fabrications and definitely don't represent the reality of what it's like to work at Photon.

Leadership is only interested in using you to make money for themselves
SVP (Former Employee) –  San Francisco, CAApril 14, 2014
The positive about Photon is that they have some interesting projects and some good clients. That aside, this is a company that is running full speed to make $$$ for the senior leadership team. On the employee side, they do not care at all about people's careers or goals. I saw them mistreat a few long-time/loyal employees for very small "infractions". They are looking for people who like to be told what to do. On the client side, I saw them over-bill clients for work. I also saw the leadership team very involved in fighting fires because of delivery issues. My personal opinion is that you would be doing yourself a huge favor favor by looking elsewhere for a job.

Not a good place to make a career and grow your skills and responsibilities
