Great Mission, Lacking Middle Management Strength
PM (Former Employee) –  Seattle, WAApril 24, 2018
Everyone is incredibly passionate about the mission. It's an exciting place to work when you know you are making a difference every day.

Leadership could use some serious training on competitive compensation, fair and consistent performance management, gender equality, and general employee development.

The acquisition changed the company dynamic; reduced health benefit while increasing deductible and premium; reduced vacation (but increased company paid holidays by one to compensate); removed anniversary vacation allowance.

Collaborative. Excellent manager - but then moved to another manager who did not understand my function. Overall a great experience, just had another opportunity at the time.

Product Support Engineer (Current Employee) –  Redmond, WADecember 13, 2017
Physio-Control, Inc. is a great place to work. I would recommend it to any seasoned professional looking to make life saving medical devices. It's not just a job, it's fulfilling at the end of the day. I go home every day and know that I made a difference.

Wellness Coordinator (Current Employee) –  Duluth, MNNovember 18, 2017
Quite a bit of politics involved in upper management. Negativity trickles down to the lower level. Decent pay and benefits. Wellness program is a great benefit and incentive.

Productive, Rewards achieved through Finished Product
Senior Production Buyer Planner/New Product Dev (Former Employee) –  Redmond, WASeptember 29, 2017
Managing material requirements, suppliers, and ensuring on-time delivery to support production was a typical day. No day was exactly the same. Risk management, supplier sourcing, new product development activity, and releasing new purchase orders could be an part of a daily activity.

I love working here and am disappointed that they are not able to convert me to permanent at this time. The people are very friendly and knowledgeable and they really believe in a work life balance.

This was a temp job and not a permanent position. I am in place to comment on the overall company. It was good for the short time I was there to help out.

Dog chasing it's tail
Senior Engineering Technician (Former Employee) –  Redmond, WAJuly 19, 2017
The company spent more time chasing it's tail than it did anything else which made things very difficult to move forward. They always seemed to want to apply a"band-aid" to cover up problems instead of fixing them the right way the first time. "Never enough time to do it the right way but time to fix it again later".

Sr. Software Quality Engineer- Contractor (Former Employee) –  Redmond, WAJune 12, 2017
Great company to work at, although I was contracting. The products are superb and the work environment is great. The company provides plenty of resources so the job can get done, and they have a very good process in place to meet customer needs and the requirements of the FDA.

This was a very nice place to work. People were very friendly and caring. I have move out of Seattle area, otherwise I would have been still working there. Overall I give Physio Control 5 stars rating this a company that creates equipment such defibrillator to help save people lives.

Fast Paced Work Environment
Staff Accountant (Former Employee) –  Redmond, WAOctober 26, 2016
The work environment was very fast paced where each employee was required to work quickly and efficiently. Work loads increased while training new employees making it very difficult to maintain work/life balance.

Management was not able to fully support their teams due to their overloaded plates and inability to delegate among team members. Communication was not a focus of management which increased confusion where multiple employees would work on similar projects with no collaboration.
Pros
Weekly happy hour in the cafeteria
Cons
Poor work environment, no work/life balance, lack of upper management support

Principal Algorithm Engineer (Former Employee) –  Redmond, WAOctober 10, 2016
Company is good, however the management is far beyound of the competency. Projects are always delayed. No vision for future products. Too much outsorsing.
Pros
Interesting work
Cons
Management has no vision what are the future products
