You have potential to move up to very high places without a degree as long as you put in the hard work and don’t get sucked into the drama and messy culture. Management are bullies and HR management sides with management is no better. They have great opportunities and I would use this place to get the experience you need to find a better place of employment. They claim to put people first but will fire you as soon as you have a different outlook. Play your role and devils advocate until you have the experience you need to get out and establish a career in a better place!

Great advancement opportunity, great benefits

Short breaks, bad culture

Great place to work

They take safety seriously and they have decent hours. Other than having to work a lot of Saturdays it's not bad. Supervisors will take the time to help if you ask

It's a job

If you need a job a job. Pilgrims is the place for you. Management and pay not all that great. They make work a lot harder then they need to. They will use you up and toss you away.

I'd never work here ever again. Management doesn't care about employees and the coworkers don't make it easier on each other. Plus the breaks are super short.

Corrupt boys club

Pay is terrible, culture is terrible, people are expendable. Pressure to perform is more important than people working there. If you like a high pressure low reward place to work, you will love Pilgrim’s.

Horrible culture and leadership

Easy but hard on the hands if you cut

Like it here. Ppl are nice for the most part, pay is ok. Management works with you on the job. Communication could be better. Not enough ppl on the lines sometimes

Watch over your shoulder, literally

The work itself is honestly not bad. You have training over general safety policies, but you will have to learn how to fix the equipment from the people that work there, or dedicate your free time to read whatever documentation is in their systems, which will require some time learning their computers to locate. Some of the equipment had to be built & modified by the maintenance team themselves. Sometimes, you will have to clean up some messes (think from unclogging toilet pipes to scooping chicken guts after repairing clogged drains in waste water), and other times you have to hang plastic wherever product could be contaminated from water above. The reason for the bad rating is due to their inadequate surveillance measures & the high potential to be screwed over by members in your team. You must CYA at all times.

Benefits, training

High prices at cafeteria, need to buy own tools, charged for lost PPE & badges

Good pay

Don't really have alot to write about this . They work with you on days off and being sick . Lots of overtime February to November. Just do your job

Cogs for a machine

The HR department is uncaring, supervisors & leads are hard to find let alone talk to. If you’re not there every day from 6am to 6pm you’re not worth anything there. Pay is below standard even with attendance bonus.

Free lunch at end of orientation, don’t test for THC in drug test

2 Short breaks, incompetent staff, excessive hours, unencouraging/non positive leaders.

Hard work not good pay

Cold environment, not enough pay for work you’re doing . Management changes rules all the time. You aren’t cared about as they say you are . They give pizza instead of raises

Decent place to work with decent pay. Mostly 6 day work weeks

Good place to work with decent pay. Mostly 6 day work weeks though unless you are salary. It's a corporation so good luck negotiating pay if you feel like you deserve more. You get a chicken discount, currently about $1 per pound. Maintenance department overall seems to want to see everyone succeed. Just implemented a training program to train employees and possibly increase their pay, but we'll see how that goes.

good money , stressful at times

You make pretty good money it's just that they feel like certain people should work hard. They burn out all their good workers and the lazy ones who really don't want to work they let them do what they want to do basically.

Decent place to work but some people are hard to work with.

Pilgrims is an ok place to work depending on which department you end up in. My only complaint at this point is some of the people here are hard to work with.

It pays, but it’s toxic

Training promotes safety and health while management constantly suggests risking both for the benefit of production. They do not equally respect people of certain genders and races. If you work hard, now you’ll always be asked to work harder with little to no acknowledgment of your efforts. Disrespect and insults are quite common forms of feedback. Management engages in gossip and spreading rumors.

Above minimum wage, food production is necessary

The smell, the workload, the hours, the disproportion of compensation to effort, toxicity of management

Stable hours

Stable hours but often short staffed and high turn over. Work on holidays, late notice on some weekends, high stress, some very good coworkers, room for advancement
