Best Place To Work
Pumping Services Dispatcher and Field Support (Former Employee) –  Victoria, TX and Midland, TXFebruary 19, 2018
Greatest place to work. Its the safest company I know and its like a big family. They have strong values and respect. Management has an open door policy and is open to everyone. The company is always looking for new ways to improve and make the employees happy. The hardest thing for many is living in Midland where all the work is. Most people are not from there so they have to travel a lot and have to be away from family.
Pros
Compensation, Benefits, Safety
Cons
Long hours/shifts and working in Midland.

Senior Engineering Analyst (Former Employee) –  Irving, TXJuly 17, 2017
It's a great company to work for. Hours are flexible and people are nice. The only thing I would say is that it's less female holding important manager roles. Very few female in the upper management

Frac Equipment Operator (Current Employee) –  Midland, TXApril 11, 2017
Pioneer Natural Resources Company is great to it's employees. The benefits are second to none, even though they raised the prices up, it's still very reasonable. It's a pretty slow progression/promotion setup though.
Pros
benefits, 401k.
Cons
Slow promotions

There are some young people with talent there.
Work and life is kind of balanced.
It is rated as the best place to work, but this is for the biggest group: white; for minorities, it is tough
Pros

Supportive team environment and good opportunities
Lead Application Analyst (Former Employee) –  Irving, TXAugust 15, 2016
Innovative and progressive IT department on the cutting edge of both technology and methods, which is a surprising find in an "old-school" business like the natural resources industry. The IT leadership actively encourages growth and learning of its employees, giving team members the opportunity to develop deep skills in the areas that interest them. Leadership is open and interested in hearing ideas from employees, which helps staff to feel valued and important.

They offer flexible work hours, support employees' families, and are accommodating of employee's need for work-life balance.

Great place to work!
Pros
happy people, flexible hours, encouraging leadership, innovative environment
Cons

I & E department in midland is horrible
Electrician (Former Employee) –  MidlandAugust 7, 2016
Management is terrible. If you like being micromanaged then it may be for you. Always someone looking over your shoulder. You will walk around feeling as if it may be your last day. No communication from management except new rules or policies. They will walk past you in the hallway and not even acknowledge your existence.
Pros
Decent benefits
Cons
Everything else

THE WORST PLACE IN MIDLAND/ODESSA TO WORK!!!!!

The electronics department is complete garbage!!!

Management is absolutely terrible!

You get to show up to work with your job threatened everyday even before you get to clock in!

They claim your compensation is based off of your performance when in reality it goes by how much paperwork you can BS.

You are forced to be on call without any compensation for carrying a company phone.

#1 Best Place to Work
Manager (Current Employee) –  Irving, TXJune 26, 2015
A diverse company with a culture that is second to none. The CEO and management team are some of the most experienced people in the industry and most have been with the company over 25 years. The headquarters in Irving offers free lunches in the cafeteria, work out facilities, 2 for 1 match on the 401k, flex-time, generous vacation days, company ski trip, etc.

It was recently named the #1 place to work in DFW by the Dallas Morning News: http://res.dallasnews.com/interactives/top100/pioneer/
