This is by far one of the best places I have worked. The owners management and HR treat you with a humanistic side and not just like a worker bee. I've worked for Jobs and cooperation that treat you as just a number. Piper fire treats you as a human. They bend over backwards to help employees. I have never worked for a more understanding place. I feel like I'm part of the family.
Reasons I chose to accept a position at Piper Fire: competitive pay compared to former employer, bonus structure, benefits, stability and 'real world' experience.
Reasons I choose to stay with Piper Fire: Open door policy, industry leaders, always striving to keep employee health insurance costs down, encouragement to work as a team, community/volunteer efforts, annual employee appreciation nights, encouragement to 'create my own destiny' within the company as well as the reasons I chose to accept the position in the first place.
Great company to work for that offers great health benefits. Everyone always seems happy and pleased with their jobs. It's a company that provides quality work by well trained employees. Piper Fire Protection appreciates their employees as much as they do their customers.
Piper Fire Protection is truly a great place to work. They are a constant growing company with room for advancement. They care about their employees. If you find that you have an interest in other areas and would like to make a move to a different department they have an open door and will train/work to make that move for you. They are there for you in and out of work. They also have very good benefits. All around great company to work with.
I thought I would enjoy working for Piper in the electrical division, and maybe I would have if they had a decent manager. We've all worked for someone like him. He treats his men like trash; demeaning, insulting, arrogant, blaming, passive aggressive, undermining. One of the absolute worst people in the electrical business in our area.
Service Coordinator (Former Employee) – Clearwater, FL – January 5, 2017
All in all Piper Fire was an okay place to work. It is a great stepping stone type job. There were some unprofessional moments with HR, but overall management was again okay. They are truly a family orientated company and look out for their own. The work environment was not bad at all. It was pretty laid back.
Pay, Benefits, Work Hours, Work shirts provided
Short breaks, no loyalty, poor job training, lack of true HR dept., lack of effective communication, lack of professionalism

Extinguisher maintenance and repair (Former Employee) – Largo, FL – July 22, 2016
Early morning start, very calm and chill environment, small amount of people working in the same building. Typically worked alone servicing fire extinguishers so that they are ready to go out in the field. Work would include discharging fire extinguisher in hopper, removing the head and taking it apart to clean and/or replace. Hydrostatic testing, resembling, pressurizing, water testing and documenting.
Piper 's upper management seems like they actually care about their employees. The offer lots of training to the technicians and always give people their 40 hours. They dont seem to ever lay off or fire people for no reason
The culture at Piper Fire is great. They are family owned and operated and make all employees feel like they are apart of the family. Compensation is competitive and is within the current market. Couldn't be more delighted with this company.
Healthcare, 401k, ping pong, pool and fitness center at the office.
Piper Fire Protection is a good company to work for. They have taken initiative in helping employees advance in their careers. They send their employees to a 4 year training program and pay for lots of other certifications. Throughout the last 5 years they have provided me with stable work. Good company!

The pay doesn't make any sense ... very cheap for a big company and work environment seems to be immature. However if you're looking for a permanent job Piper is the place to go because they never fire anybody and are always hiring
