Crooked, not open to positive changes. They love getting people in trouble.
Swine Technician (Former Employee) –  Stanley, IAFebruary 3, 2018
I would not work at this place, very poor management and a lot of animal abuse. People play favorites.and are completely dishonest. I tried to walk in with a positive attitude and make some improvements but management didn't like that and started making false claims to get me in trouble. Extremely disorganised and on top of that when I tried to raise my concerns with human resources my HR rep was very rude and hung up on me.
Pros
Full. Health coverage. Good hours.
Cons
A lot of animal abuse

work at pipestone was labor intensive. the work was steady, you knew what you would be doing each day when you arrived. in order to enter the building you had to follow exact procedures each day

Crooked, Discriminating Company
Other (Former Employee) –  MinnesotaDecember 14, 2016
This company has great benefits and okay pay, but they discriminate against their employees & play favorites. Co-workers & management alike strive to get others into trouble, while their own discrepancies are ignored. Some get away with anything, while others are reprimanded or terminated for the same.
Pros
benefits
Cons
not military friendly, whistleblower retaliation

Filter Compliance Tech (Former Employee) –  Pipestone, MNJanuary 7, 2016
Working in a swine barn is not for everyone. However, if you can handle it Pipestone System has a great benefit package!
As in all work areas, sometimes it can be difficult to avoid bad days. Overall I believe it was a good place to work.

Gestation Lead (Current Employee) –  Pipestone, MNSeptember 21, 2014
A typical day at Pipestone System consists of feeding and watering the sows. Treating the sick sows and piglets is usually next on the list. Heat checking and breeding are done in the gestation barn. Farrowing of the piglets is done in the farrowing barn. Fostering piglets is done after the sows are done having babies. The hardest part of the job is learning how what to do, but once you get it. It's smooth sailing. The most enjoyable part of the job is knowing you are the start of the chain of feeding pork to America.
Pros
Healthcare. Work as much as you want.
Cons
Overworked. 45+ hours every week.
