How long does it take to get hired from start to finish at Pittsburgh Pirates? What are the steps along the way?
It really depends. Are you a player? A sales person? A concessions stand worker? Are you looking for a job in Pittsburgh or at the spring training facility in Florida? The place to start is the Pittsburgh Pirates website and the jobs/application posted there. I know for Spring Training in Florida they have had job fairs that will interview and extend a job offer on the spot, pending your background check.
They are paying an abysmal $9 an hour for Spring Training in Florida. That is not a competitive wage in this market and their wages are skewed by all the retired people who flock to Florida and are willing to work for peanuts just to have something to do. It ruins the wages for younger people who have to work and are not subsidized by pensions or social security. The going wage for hospitality work in this area of Florida at this time of year (high season) is $14-$15 an hour.
