The Worst Leadership & Work Culture I've Ever Seen
Special Events Coordinator (Former Employee) –  Tulsa, OKDecember 20, 2018
Planned Parenthood Great Plains was the worst workplace culture I've ever experienced. Leadership is a disaster. Turnover is continuous. Employees aren't valued, compensated well, trusted to do their jobs, or appreciated for their expertise. All while doing multiple jobs because of the continuous turnover. Leadership looks down on & bullies subordinates. HR brushes that under the rug. I would advise anyone who values their time and sanity to turn and run the opposite way.
Cons
1950's wages, culture of bullying and intimidation, constantly overworked, no opportunity for advancement, leaders who are terrible leaders, no maternity/paternity leave...at a "social justice" organization

Education and Outreach Coordinator (Current Employee) –  Wichita, KSOctober 18, 2018
The agency has had a lot of leadership changes and i'm no longer sure that its the place for me.. Agency morale is down and the pay inst sufficient enough to take care of my family given there are no career advancement opportunities in place.

Stressfull place to work. No considerations or respect for the employees at the clinic. Bad paid. The administration does not care about the employees of the clinic. There is a code of silence and the employees cant express what they feel or think. A typical day of work is a non stop one. You cant have lunch quietly because you have to work!

Very hardworking people at the clinic!
Pros
Hard working people at the clinic
Cons
Bad administration, no organization at all, lack of supervision

Making Changes
Administration (Current Employee) –  Overland Park, KSMay 17, 2018
There is a new CEO, culture committee, and executive leadership, so my outlook is positive. There is still room for improvement in communication and overall morale. The benefits and paid time off are decent. They have 6 weeks paid parental leave, which is great. The pay is very good for a non-profit. It can be tough working at a place with a stigma attached to it, but the people are all passionate about the mission and support each other. The wide-range of job duties is conducive to learning and development. There are opportunities for advancement in some departments, but not in others since the organization is small.
Pros
Coworkers, Pay, Paid Parental Leave, Vacation, Sick Time, Making Changes, New Leadership, Range of Job Duties
Cons
Some Stress, The Stigma, Lack of Communication, Disorganized, Low Morale in Some Areas

Fast paced job environment that provides great experience
Communications Manager (Current Employee) –  Overland Park, KSMay 17, 2018
This work environment is incredibly fast-paced and you have to be a self-starter to make the most out of your work. There's a lot of opportunity to expand your skill set by jumping in and assisting with projects.
There has been high turnover in the past but there have been initiatives recently to address the past problems which makes me hopeful.
Pros
learning opportunities, never a dull day, great coworkers

The absolute worst place to work
MA (Former Employee) –  kansas city metroApril 9, 2018
If you want to be lied to from everyone in upper management on down this is most definitely the job for you. They tell you whatever they have to get to come aboard. No one takes any responsibility for anything. It is always someone else fault. The clinics are short staffed and overworked and they never plan to add to the staff per the "budget". The worst part of the day is knowing you have to come deal with PPGP. If you're looking for a job that wants to stay way past the operations hours without ever taking any kind of break, this is the job for you.

Front Desk Receptionist/Office Assistant (Former Employee) –  Gladstone, MOJanuary 31, 2018
Mangement was horrible. The manager was very snappy, did not have the patience to train. She would snatch papers and sling them just to be sure the new hires knew her patience was up.
Pros
pretty office
Cons
stressful training

If you want to make a real difference in people's lives, work here!
Provider (Current Employee) –  MO/KSFebruary 25, 2017
Planned Parenthood is there for all of its patients and not many health care providers can say that. Most of the staff I work with are hard working and dedicated individuals who care deeply about the mission. If you're looking for an organization that is truly about serving its patients, then this is the place for you. There is a lot of focus on quality of care and keeping volume up. Many of the staff are professional and focused, and get along. At times it is difficult working for a place that some people on the outside don't agree with but working along like-minded, strong people helps. Like I said, if you want to make a real difference in every day people's lives, then this is the place for you.
Pros
Mission focused, quality of care, staff
Cons
Short breaks, busy

Horrible Place to work
Front Office Assistant (Current Employee) –  Independence, MONovember 8, 2016
The turn over wait is really high. Planned Parenthood does not value their employees. If you want to be treated like a low priority then this is the place to work. The employees are over worked and the offices are under staffed.

Not the place to be.
Employee (Former Employee) –  Overland Park, KSNovember 2, 2016
If you love working long hours with no appreciation and constantly playing politics then you might like it. Sr Management has no clue as to what they are doing. A high turnover rate is the glaring sign of unhappy employees.
Pros
Loved my coworkers
Cons
Benefits, sr mgt, work life balance.
