Medical Assistant (Former Employee) - Kent, WA - May 8, 2021
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedPoorly managed which created a toxic work environment and lots of turn over with employees. Favoritism for years of services vs job performance. Pretend to be inclusive but it’s only a facade. Manager never held herself accountable for errors and miscommunications instead would find excuses or others to blame. I loved my patients and the work I did however management is the reason turnover is so high at this specific location.
Pros
Giving back to the community, culturally inclusive
Cons
Lack of management skills, Toxic work environment, Under paid and under valued for the hard work

Only work here if you feel strongly about the mission
Nurse (Former Employee) - New York State - February 15, 2021
The patients are grateful and wonderful, as are your coworkers but senior leadership leaves a lot to be desired!!! My patients and coworkers were the only thing that kept me coming back.

Inefficiency, deficiency & unprofessional
Clinician (Former Employee) - Maryland - February 13, 2021
The most disappointing workplace of my long 40 year professional career, they lure you in with their attractive mission and and swag and then treat you like last week's garbage. They place no value on their most important and productive licenced healthcare providers while empowering the uneducated and untrained staff to run the show. Run fast and far if you are a medical professional and they offer employment. Don't believe a word they say. They will promise the moon and deliver a kick in the back.
Pros
Provides much needed essential reproductive healthcare to those most in need
Cons
Terrible horrible management and non-existent leadership

People in the clinics rock
Assistant Health Center Manager (Current Employee) - CO - February 10, 2021
It's easy to work with anyone who works in the clinics, including managers. They are compassionate and understanding. The admin folx are far removed from the clinics' day to day struggles.
Pros
Fullfilling work
Cons
Protestors

Register Medical Assistant (Former Employee) - Mishawaka, IN - February 10, 2021
This place is a joke to many chiefs and not enough Indians. If you don't like what a person says then you won't fit in. They show favoritism , managers don't do their jobs right. I wouldn't ever want to be a patient because they talk about them while they're still in the clinic. No professionalism. And no medical experience required.... yea I don't think so .

Tough work but good mission
Health Care Assistant (Former Employee) - Michigan - February 5, 2021
Lots to do and not enough time to do it. The patients are great but it's hard to serve them adequately when you don't have the time or resources to do it.
Pros
Mission, Patients, Learning Opportunities
Cons
Lack of resources

Loved it.
Health Center Manager II (Former Employee) - Ames, IA - February 3, 2021
I loved my job with planned parenthood of the Heartland. I began my early career as a clinic assistant and quickly advanced to an interim clinical manager for two smaller clinics. Just a few short years later, I returned to the clinic in which ai had begun my career, to become the clinical manager there att he biggest clinic in our agency.
Pros
Benefits, salary
Cons
Productivity standards were high

Good for experience
Public Affairs Intern (Former Employee) - West Palm Beach, FL - February 1, 2021
Management could be better. A lot of micromanaging in the office. During my internship I knew I wouldn’t work full time for the company. I did enjoy the impact we made on the community though. We held events for support of women’s health. I loved that.
Pros
Free food and events
Cons
Micro management

Jobs at Planned Parenthood
Great learning experience

Planned Parenthood was a great learning experience and a great place to grow. That being said, I believe we are underpaid as Reproductive Health Specialists because we do so much.
Pros
Benefits, Training
Cons

I only worked here for a few months but it was the best job I have had. A positive and encouraging environment. The leadership was great and the work reflected that.

Purpose
Patient Service Representative (Former Employee) - Minneapolis, MN - January 26, 2021
It’s cool to work with people that have similar passion and drive towards a greater purpose. Training was thorough. Coworkers were enjoyable. Going to work everyday gave me purpose.
Pros

important work, good people, fast paced
Management is supportive as long as you are able to work well. The work is not difficult once you learn it. Most days I left feeling proud of the work I did. I have kept many of the friends I made while working here. However, overscheduling tends to lead to unhappy clients, there is not a lot of opportunity for growth here, and the turnover rate is high. very fast paced work environment with little room for error.
Pros
supportive staff, good company culture, inclusive work environment
Cons
overworked, stay late past your scheduled hours.

Great cause and sincere about providing medical and health services to their community but reverse discrimination and some high minded management.
Multiple Positions (Former Employee) - New Haven, CT - January 16, 2021
Excellent care of their clients. Excellent teen program and education program. However pay is extremely low, disorganized management, reverse discrimination, very gossipy atmosphere, too much workload placed on many, wasteful with money spending, better collaboration between depts is needed. They are still in the learning phases of diversity and inclusion and take things in this regard to extremes and have a very high minded attitude there about it. I had always wanted to work there but after my experience there these past 2 years I would never work there again.

untruthful
Health Center Receptionist (Former Employee) - Victorville, CA - January 16, 2021
the company is untruthful in what they stand for. you will hear many things in which they pride them selves on, however working there and seeing behind the scenes, what is portrayed to the public is not actually what is happening.

Meaningful work in a challenging environment
Receptionist (Former Employee) - Little Rock, AR - January 15, 2021
Over the course of a decade I worked within multiple capacities with the organization. It was all work that I enjoyed, and I felt supported by the team around me. I would go back, even after leaving.
Pros
Mission, Culture
Cons
Stressful, Divisive work

No room for growth, great managers
N/A (Former Employee) - Orange County, CA - January 9, 2021
The organization itself is great and I advocate for its entire mission. However, workplace is often times cliquey. There is minimal room for growth as the organization “grooms” certain individuals for higher positions. The work is repetitive and the days feel long, but great coworkers make up for this aspect. Management is as good as can be.
Pros
Good management, nice coworkers, great organization values
Cons
Repetitive work, no room for growth, cliquey workplace culture

RN Staff Nurse (Current Employee) - Minnesota - January 5, 2021
I've been a nurse for 15 years. This is the 1st place that really focuses on well being of employees. It's a truly kind work place. Leadership meets regularly with staff, listens, and takes feedback.

Good people
Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Former Employee) - Los Angeles, CA - January 4, 2021
All the people are very nice and very professional. The call center is a bit hectic because obviously they need to deal with the public. Some of the clinics are spread to far apart for us to support but we had the remote tools to do it.
Pros
Flexible
Cons
Some management is uptight
