Working as a production operator in several areas
PA II (Current Employee) – Nampa, ID – May 21, 2019
Working 12 hour days or nights scheduled, but will be sent home during slow times, requiring you to use vacation days to keep your hours and paycheck consistent. Working with SMT type equipment can be a challenge, but plenty of knowledgeable technicians to help you with questions or issues.
Management on nights are good focusing on quality of product. Day management concentrating too much on appearances of moving product during customer visits, rather than solving true issues of product quality when issues arise. Known for taking away previous certifications when moved to different areas because certifications not be used, which limits personal growth in company.
Culture is more of a reactive mindset based, panic and damage control when too late. Not proactive, "how to best prevent from happening at all."
Being put in between management of quality issues vs throughput numbers by Quality Engineers and immediate Shift Management, whose goals, are at odds with each other.
Most employees I worked with care about quality. Even if management says to do otherwise.
Full shift hours and pay not reliable from day to day, poorly and mismanaged departments, preach quality, double standard of managers pushing numbers to sacrifice quality, reactive approach, not proactive when finding solutions, temp agency type business philosophy.
