Account Supervisor - Samsung (Former Employee) –  Los Angeles, CAMay 6, 2018
You will be traveling a lot for work and have a limited social life, but there's lots of autonomy as long as you are able to self manage. There are also lots of meetings, so had to work late hours just to actually have time to work on things assigned to me.

Poor training, catty management, slow to promote
Account Executive, Brands (Current Employee) –  New York, NYMarch 12, 2018
You are part of the IPG conglomerate and all that comes with it - slow to promote, but decent benefits. The problem with PMK is primarily the management. There are people who have been here for 15 years and definitely let you know when you're not a part of the inner circle. No one has each other's back and it's unfortunate because the clients represent great brands. Although, if you're recruited to work on Samsung - run for the hills!
Pros
great clients, unlimited PTO
Cons
catty management, slow to promote, minimal raises

Terrible
Account Executive (Former Employee) –  Los Angeles, CAJanuary 29, 2018
Management is terrible. Immoral and unethical business practices. Total mean girls environment. Blatant favoritism. There is no opportunity to grow. Great experience for an intern or out of college to gain experience, but don't count on making a career here.

Account Executive (Former Employee) –  Los Angeles, CAJanuary 14, 2018
Great entry level job, but the culture and management is terrible. There is no room for advancement unless you are a brown noser. Total Mean Girls environment. I would not recommend.

Assistant (Former Employee) –  Century City, CADecember 31, 2017
Terrible cutthroat culture.

Supervisors are demeaning, nasty to employees--especially assistants--and have no respect for those who work below them.
Pros
Unlmited PTO
Cons

I really can't say anything bad about this place. Great work/ life balance and perks for full timers. They just get it and work hard to provide for their clients and employees.

Executive Assistant (Current Employee) –  Century City, CAJanuary 3, 2017
But not a great fit if you want to move up. The people are really cool and there are often a lot of perks. The work hours are pretty terrible though and there isn't a lot of organization.

Inaccurate Job Description
Analyst (Former Employee) –  Los Angeles, CAOctober 22, 2016
The SVP of this department has created an environment that is lifeless. There is no collaboration among the managers and zero interaction among the analysts. The work is not insights or analytics, and is reduced to an exercise in creative writing. The managers show little to no appreciation for the work that you do. There is a lot of turnover.

Publicity Assistant (Former Employee) –  Los Angeles, CAJuly 8, 2016
PMK*BNC is a pretty good company to work for if you have just graduated. It has upheld a good reputation in the PR industry for many years and thus, being able to put it on your resume is a pro. However, the company culture is pretty dismal in my opinion. Assistants are compensated terribly and are expected to be on call all the time. Most of the assistants were constantly looking for other work opportunities because of this. It also takes quite a bit of time to move up in the rankings at PMK*BNC and many assistants have found themselves in the same position for more than 2 or 3 years.

Assistant (Current Employee) –  West Hollywood, CAFebruary 12, 2014
Constant madness but great place to learn the biz. The company is growing and expanding which offers a ton of opportunity. The upper management are not great mentors, and could be better. The office tends to be very cliquey.
Cons
Low Salary, Bad work/life balance

Brands Intern (Former Employee) –  New York, NYFebruary 11, 2014
As an undergraduate student I was able to spend two semesters interning for PMK BNC in their NYC office. While the internship was unpaid the value is really in the connections you make with your supervisors and fellow interns, who eventually will be headed into your field of interest.

Their internship program is structured in a way that your are given workshops with each department music, film, brands, etc. This way you get to understand all aspects of the their company.
Pros
great events, star gazing opportunities, great connections
Cons
unpaid

High stress work place
Special Events Publicist (Current Employee) –  Los Angeles, CAJune 23, 2013
PMKBNC has many strengths and weaknesses. Because you work in the entertainment industry, it's a given that you won't be treated the best by upper management, salary is way to low for the work you and time you put in, and advancement in your career has nothing to do with the results you produce; rather, your relationship with your boss. If they like you, you will get promoted, if you don't have a "buddy buddy" relationship with your boss...good luck. You aren't dealing with a company that has ONE boss, you have about 50 bosses who have worked there for 10/20 years, who are able to treat you any way they want, and have egos the size of China and Russia...mixed together. HR is only there to help you cope, not correct the company's short-comings.

However, there ARE some wonderful people that work at PMK...mainly the junior staff. They help you get by and are always there to lend a year when you have a bad day. Also, the clients you work on are amazing and you get once in a lifetime experience working on some of the agency's accounts.

Working at PMK has been a great experience. I've learned so much by working with some of the world's most recognizable brands. The job requires attention to detail and an ability to multitask.

I love interning at PMK. My experience so far has been great, I have had the opportunity to learn so much in a short amount of time. My daily duties are preparation for huge projects/events and it's great to see everything come to life.
