Great place to work!
Administrative Assistant (Former Employee) –  Dulles, VAFebruary 15, 2019
It was great working for this small company. The managers are easy to reach and always available when help was needed. Great training and great workplace culture. Some days were slow and some were busy which was great. Everyday I was learning something new.
Pros
Great atmosphere, relaxed, friendly coworkers
Cons
Need more competitive benefits

The best Hvac company I have ever worked for
HVAC Service Technician (Current Employee) –  Washington, DCFebruary 22, 2018
I have worked for a couple of HVAC companies, and this one is by far the best and for many reasons. On top of treating their customers with respect they also treat employees with the same up most respect. They know we technicians have families and understand our priorities, and that's hard to find in any company. It's been a blessing working here and for those who have worked for HVAC companies will understand that Polar bear is a pot of gold and those who remain here are treated as such.
Pros
Weekly Salary, wonderful enviorment, paid vacation, bonus

Promises made upon hire which did not meet
Administrative Assistant (Former Employee) –  Sterling, VAFebruary 10, 2018
You're paid 15$ an hour plus commission plus bonus on summer months. Altogether it adds up to about 40-42k per year excluding tax.
Some promises about career advancement and job security were made upon hire that never came to fruition. They never even let you show skills in technology or management. The job requires you to only focus on customers and technicians, nothing more. So unless you want to waste a lot of time just working for a paycheck and helping build someone else's business, this job is not rewarding to say the least.
Pros
Weekly pay, summer bonus, 2 weeks paid vacation, Thanks Giving and New Year's and Christmas paid time off, and end of the year bonus.
Cons
No job security, no incentives for promotion, no promotional position, sometimes caring about the business may lead to working without pay.

Official response from Polar Bear Air Conditioning & Heating, Inc.
February 22, 2018

At Polar Bear, we clearly and honestly state when advancements are possible within the company at the time of hire. Advancement is not automatic for any team member, but dependent upon achievement at the hired position, meeting certain goals, and the availability of the advanced position. If mastery at the hired position has not been achieved, additional training and correction is applied to help a team member succeed. Mastery at one level must be achieved before advancement to the next level. If additional training and correction does not remedy significant deficits in performance, a team member may be released, with such deficits discussed in the exit interview. These policies apply to all team members.
