Incompetent Managers
Dispatcher (Former Employee) –  Charlotte, NCMay 17, 2018
Managers have no clue about the day to day business, they will lie to your face. They play the secret squirrel game a lot here, so don't expect to know what's going on in the company. You will find out more from other drivers from different companies as to what is going on at Pope.

Pope Transport trains their petroleum drivers better than any other company in the south. They have a great safety culture. They treat their employees very well.

Great place to work with a good core of employees and a good work environment. I had to leave after several yrs with the company due to parents health issues. Very accommodating staff and management crew as well as a caring and personable home office. I miss working at Pope Transport (and living in NC :).

Route Driver (Former Employee) –  N Charleston, SCJune 6, 2013
They had a few"favorite" drivers and the rest of us had to watch our backs at all times. Local guys seem very bitter about yankee's working there. The management did nothing about it. To much drama for me
Pros
Working by yourself
Cons
Hours, lack of support from corporate
