Boring because when I turn the postmate app on it takes approximately 2 hours to receive an assignment. It's a alright company to do IC work for
Everyday is hit and miss, miss. I average 1 delivery per 3. Canceled orders, don't accept credit card, don't deal with Postmates, restaurant closed, order was already picked up, wrong menu order and can't fullfil order, or order needed to be pre-ordered on merchants app for pic up. And then there are great days where I get offers to pick up 12 miles away for 3 dollars otherwise I sit and wait for hours for an offer near my location so I typically use $5 of gas per order and pray that I will wake up tomorrow to a tip because because for some odd reason Postmates processes the tips separately and I typically have to wait 24 hours before I receive them. I haven't even begun to calculate wear and tear and maintenance on my personal vehicle but I expect to come out on the losing end of my employment with Postmates. I have heard that some companies think of their employees as their biggest asset, I wish Postmates would adopt a similar philosophy and not only treat their drivers better but take measures to do better in helping their drivers earn money while driving for them. Perhaps i should have seen this coming when I signed on and failed to read the fine print of their marketing scheme of earning a $200 bonus after delivering 20 orders, where it turned out that I received $200 minus what I earned for the same deliveries which ended up being $56 dollars. I walked away with a $56 bonus which was own fault for not reading the fine print but I think that any company that deals in any form of subterfuge or similar marketing strategies that verge on the tactics of predatory lenders then you should tread very lightly and use caution when dealing with them. I realize that some people are in very unfortunate positions and are desperate to make a living to provide for their family and loved ones so try to avoid working for places like this if at all possible and seek employment opportunities at a local temp agency before signing on.
Sit a local Walmart that has pickup and wait for offers....usually get 5 or 6 in 5 hour period. Pretty easy, but the GPS on app has been sending me to wrong addresses lately. When it rains app malfunctions and won't let you swipe "complete pickup " or " complete dropoff " , which is EXTREMELY frustrating, especially when I have hot or cold food from a restaurant. Fleet support tells you to close the app and restart it in order to fix the problem but doesn't always work.
I enjoy meeting new people and driving, and most times the tips are really good...average $5.00-$20.00 per "run" most of the time.
Sign in about 1030 am and park in a typical busy lunch rush area..wait for deliveries and go for it
Starting early, doing dble orders from Walmart for a disgusting $1 bonus, taking abuse from customers who think they are entitled and waiting on hold for 3 hrs for customer service
A typical day doing Postmates is understanding the peak hours, and understanding the hot spots. I only do Postmates in its hottest hours to guarantee me the maximum amount
Someday good other bad what I don’t like is when you have to do the other yourself wait like an hrs till is done deliver n don’t even get that much pay 3 to 4 dollars msh... other than that you can make some serious money if you committed.
Fun i love to drive and i meet new people everday
Regardless of performance and attainment to quota: 60 calls, 20 emails
Wake up, work when I want. Cash out when I want. It's pretty cool!
