Reviews about Pay & Benefits for Delivery Driver in Postmates
It is exactly as advertised
Delivery Driver (Current Employee) - Bethesda, MD - March 2, 2018
You turn on the app and get going it is that simple. Hours are based on when you set your status to working and over when you turn it off. As contracted delivery work goes it is fine. The app sends you everything you need in a well organized way. The biggest problem you'll run into though is parking. It can often be very hard to find free parking which could severely hurt how much you take in. But other then that, its an easy way to work when you have free time and is quite easy.
Pros
flexible schedule
Cons
parking

Working on my own time
Delivery Driver (Former Employee) - Arlington, VA - May 18, 2020
When ever I had some free time I would just go in my car and wait for a delivery for me to accept and deliver. After deliveries I would sometimes get tips some people are more generous than others with tips but it’s good.

It's okay for some quick cash but not very profitable
Postmates Delivery Driver (Former Employee) - Palm Desert, CA - August 24, 2023
You completely get to choose your hours which and have the option of getting paid out immediately which are both nice. There are the occasional rude customers but overall it's not too bad. Interactions with everyone are very brief which is either good or bad depending how you view it but was fine by me. The best part was making your own hours with relatively easy work and the worst part was it wasn't super profitable and the wear and tear on your own vehicle and buying your own gas.
Pros
Work your own hours, fairly easy
Cons
Not very profitable, wear and tear on car and buying your own gas
