Work & Life Balance

Sales Development Representative in Folsom, CA

So much growth & turnover that experienced employees are needed to stay put.
PowerSchool is growing a lot and has a high turnover rate in the sales department. Instead of promoting within, they look for outside talent to fill the gap. Current employees are looked at as something to maintain a semblance of stability. The SDR Organization is crucial for loading sales pipeline for AEs, but are easily expendable. The management up & left after COVID hit and it's just managed remotely. Things are stable, yet stagnant.

any people hate something or other about their work. Most of us probably hear someone complain about their job or their boss nearly every day. It's not just them—or you—who aren't happy at work. The Conference Board's Job Satisfaction 2020 survey showed overall job satisfaction at 56.3%.1 While a CNBC / SurveyMonkey Workforce Survey reported that while 73% of employees were happy at work, 27% were not.2Gallup reports that even though the number of employees who were "actively disengaged" and miserable at work was low at 14% in June 2020, the overall percentage of engaged workers who were attached to their job and company was only 36%.3But while hating your job is a pretty common human experience, that doesn’t make it any less difficult to handle.4 After all, you spend upwards of half your waking hours at work. If you can’t stand what you do, it’s hard to feel good about your life.

The company is constantly acquiring smaller companies and majority of the new hires from India. Never have budget to hire in the U.S. Whenever a new company is acquired, they cut U.S. staff, even from teams has nothing to do with the new product and hire India staff.

They have a discretionary time off policy so if you don’t take any time off during the year then you don’t get any paid time off pay or paid for the days not used after the year rolls over. They say they won’t deny time off unless they don’t have enough coverage for the days requested but since they are regularly understaffed it’s hard or impossible to get the time off during peak season when they are most under staffed.

If you want a manager who will throw you under the bus because they are not qualified and they don't know what they are doing, or if you want an executive team who does not care about their employees, or if you want to have a job with terrible benefits and a low salary, then this is the job for you!
