Nice pay but for the work i believe we're underpaid in all honesty. The hours can be very long depends on how fast u are and the work is very physical. There will he alot of lifting and pulling. Management is alright no room to move up in the company no raises just a set pay.

Route Sales (Current Employee) –  Nashville, TNJuly 9, 2019
It’s definitely a tough physically demanding job. the customers, people and pay are worth it . It’s easy to get in a routine. Having a life outside of work is a definite.

Laboratory Manager (Former Employee) –  Carbondale, ILJuly 1, 2019
The hardest part of the job was watching how lazy people can be. The best part about the company was they were involved with helping schools and kids.

Beware of supervisors
Cooler (Current Employee) –  Carlinville, ILJune 19, 2019
Literally the work supervisor in the carlinville plant. With no explanation as to his words and attempts to belittle you vs correct the issue. A true leader does not do such actions. A leader will guide, teach, praise, discipline, assist, and stand back when needed. A leader does not make statements such as you are no one. Everyone is someone.
Pros
Good pay, benefit, overtime
Cons
Supervisor, forced over time

Great place to work at (I could honestly say that)
Driver (Former Employee) –  Memphis,TNJune 15, 2019
Great place to be employed at, management is great. Pay raise is great and benefits as well. Just had a hiccup with manager at Dollar "MESSY" General who wanted to flex her power because she was supposed to be "by the book" and pulled at her store Tuesday morning and discovered she and another non employee was smoking marijuana. After the discovery she just started to act out and lost my job that following Monday.
Pros
Great pay, Benefits
Cons
They'll fire you over the littlest thing/even a lie.

Unwilling to invest in proper equipment/technology.
Project Engineer (Current Employee) –  St. Louis, MOJune 13, 2019
Unwilling to invest in proper equipment to maximize the plant's potential. Common phrase: "That's the way it has always been". Resistant to incorporate new technology into the plant.

Maintenance & Engineering Manager (Current Employee) –  Fort Wayne, INJune 13, 2019
Not a bad place to work just unorganized at times, feel that managers get no guaranteed raises. For the most part you wear lots of hats as a manager and they are frequently understaffed.

Prairie Farms gave me the freedom to get the job done without being micromanaged. They were understanding about family matters and allowed time off when needed.

Ridiculous hours no life
No title fits have to learn several positions (Former Employee) –  Holland, IndianaFebruary 2, 2019
I always worked overtime every week, but the overtime hours kept getting worse and worse. I like to work overtime, but 14-19 hour shifts is not healthy. You can talk to management about it, but all they say is "it's your job". They expect people to work those kind of hours and have NO mistakes! You have NO FAMILY LIFE working those kinds of hours and you never get 2 days off in a roll you get one day off then back to work then your 2nd day off in a week if your lucky because they also call you in on your days off. On a good note...the pay was great, but you have no time to enjoy it. So pay is good, benefits are good other than those two things I can't think of anything else good there. Oh and bonus, don't expect to be trained much at all! Making employees work 19 hours a day should be illegal!!
Pros
Good pay, good insurance
Cons
Hours and lack of training

Material Handler (Former Employee) –  Mindoro, WIJanuary 28, 2019
The amount your paid is good. But the amount of work you do is too much for a person to handle. Everyone there is nice and good. Bad work environment.

Fun Workplace with great employees
Line Worker/Packer (Former Employee) –  Faribault, MNDecember 30, 2018
a typical day at work includes a lot of laughs and completing orders.
I learned that even though we are working doesn't mean we cant have fun while we work.
the hardest part of the day is getting the day started, once everything gets going and running smoothly that's when the day gets better.
the most enjoyable would be on the way to punch out.
Pros
good schedule
Cons
early start

I don't have one/we work together (Current Employee) –  Holland, INNovember 29, 2018
A typical day at Prairie Farms is very busy and fast pace. You have to have the ability to multitask all day long. They workplace is a little unorganized. The hardest part of the job is properly handling the stress of other employees within the company. Another hard part of the job is having little or no performance based incentives. They are quick to tell you what you have done wrong, but lack of what has been done correctly The most enjoyable part of the job is communicating with the customers via phone/walk-ins.
Pros
