Fast weekend evenings, consistent hours, set routine schedule
Security Guard (Former Employee) – Altoona, IA – September 7, 2017
Would get in after noon for the shift and leave late evening. Had no prior experience of Security but soon came to learn multiple skills in the field. Had the responsibilities of the staff and guests safety. During the week it was slow, but weekends flooded with people. The structure of the building made it hard to maintain what was required of our staff in security.
Some of the employees staffed were difficult in working with, but made it work. Hardest parts of the job were sometimes standing in one spot for almost a constant eight hours whilst keeping eye on many keen details. Also handling guests who did not want to cooperate in an environment that was loud and crowded.
Enjoyed most about the job was the teamwork that was needed to get most work done. Also meeting a lot of people through staff or guest of the town.
Multiple times for breaks, had each other's backs, consistent hours
never made more than 40 hours, low pay, smoke environment
