Care about your employees. Celebrate them once in a while. Give back to them. I managed two shifts of employees a year ago and they work long hours in lack luster conditions. They may be getting compensated fairly, but they are all dedicated. The daily beatings concerning the TOC does not apply to the SPS Technologies facility. They are a job shop and spend too much time figuring out metrics than acting like the short run manufacturer they are. Let the supervision on the floor not be micro managed if qualified, as I believe I was. Management needs to offer proper resources to budget throughput that applies to the facility itself. Also, the supervision daily "beat the heck out of you" meetings do no good to the motivation of supervisors that have their hands tied economically and by forceful behavior.
