As many have answered, the lack of openness and availability of the leadership team is certainly something I would change. Also, the core corporate leadership all comes from the same background (industry and company) so favoritism and protection of "their people" is ridiculous. I would certainly get rid of the political, who you know, environment.
I would have a open door policy an have the staff voice opinion how we can do better to make it a better place to work.
Have a true open door to management. Don't go behind back to dept manager and have them ask why you approached and chide them for voicing an opinion/concern. Stop micro managing. Be more transparent - too much secrecy!

Management!!! They are awfil. They don't listen, no support, under paid, and throw,too much on your plate.
