Job Culture
Avoid like the plague!
Private (Current Employee) –  MinnesotaMarch 19, 2019
Awful culture and “raises” don’t even come close to COLA rate! They will try to get you to think you’ll get a decent bonus, but NO ONE gets the full percentage. Mass exodus each year after payout. Management is awful and culture is sad. Very siloed organization. No one knows what anyone else is doing so duplication and inefficient processes are everywhere! Company is frightened of change! Don’t get trapped and “Primeatized”.

End of shift

Hiph pace, demanding, multiple deadlines hourly, daily, monthly, and yearly
Clinical Review Assistant (Former Employee) –  Eagan, MNJanuary 8, 2019
Typical work day includes multiple tasks and the ability to move from one task to the next quickly. High standards of accuracy expected in work performed. Must have the ability to work independently and as a team to meet client needs and deadlines. Those that are successful have the ability to analyze, gather, collect, be proactive, and ability to use resources to complete work. Many changes at any given time, changes needed to improve may take a while to implement but the friendly workplace culture makes the high stress of the job all the difference.

Typical work day consists of sitting and reviewing request. The diversity and culture is great. The management cares about the people and the members that we serve.

Do not work there
IT Contract Manager for pharmacy benefit manager (Former Employee) –  Eagan, MNNovember 8, 2018
Working there reminds me of going to high school, where it is about cliques, belonging, and popularity. Good ideas drown there in favor of the power structure.
Pros
Interesting business with smart people

Management, culture

Great company but the culture is turning into a "shoot the messenger" culture
Director IT (Current Employee) –  Eagan, MNNovember 6, 2018
Great company but finance controls the purse strings too much. They are not investing in the people and technology to survive. Employee engagement is slipping because there are not investing in people.

PT is a very goal oriented company with fun people and a great management team, does get repetitive, but the managers will always help break up the bore.

GP Compliance (Current Employee) –  Bloomington, MNOctober 4, 2018
A typical day is about half meetings and planning, and half researching and writing. The culture is positive and friendly, with excellent leadership, but some lower level managers are difficult to work with. The facilities are top-notch and the growth potential is fantastic.
Pros
Great insurance
Cons
When it's busy, there's not enough time to even eat lunch

It was nice while it lasted with the perks. Too much bias there. Too many people all wanting to advance to the same next level. High school culture at times.
Pros
many ways to abuse the system and get extra $

Management believes you are easily replaceable. Advancement is all about who you know and the workplace culture is alright. Turnover is very high. Ever since Walgreens took over the culture has changed.

The culture at Prime was pretty hectic, however, it was growing and changing back and forth. When I was there they had 3 CEOs within a period of 5 years.

Pharmacy Technician Supervisor (Current Employee) –  Orlando, FLMay 24, 2018
At my job for the most part everyone is very friendly and outgoing always willing to help when needed. A typical day at work is to ensure that we are servicing our members to the best of our ability even if that means going above and beyond.

No employee development, cutthroat
quality audit specialist (Former Employee) –  Eagan, MNMay 3, 2018
Prime Therapeutics practices the hiring of large cohorts ("contractors") of fresh, young grads for AIS/QAS positions. I witnessed a large number of them, over half, get laid off before training is even completed. This was done in preparation for "peak season", and even more employees were laid off before the season was completed. They only keep a few people from each cohort, you'll have to be extremely competitive to have a chance of sticking around. Management likes to put each employee into a square hole by iterating their "5 words" at every monthly/weekly employee review, and whether or not you're meeting them. Its not an environment conducive to employee development whatsoever.

Great 401K and PTO Benefits
Member Service Specialist Supervisor (Current Employee) –  Irving, TXMarch 27, 2018
The company is big on celebrating success and recognizing employees who excel in their job. There is additional leadership training for the management staff. But they change their VP every 18 to 24 months and each VP tries to do things which they thought are different from the previous VP. Unfortunately some of those strategies didn't work before but the new VP thinks it's his fresh ideas. Also I think some of the VP has a lack of respect for the supervisors.

One has to deal with favoritism with the senior leadership. You will not get promoted if you're not in their inner circle of friends. But overall you will meet some of the nicest people to work with who don't play politics and they make your stay in the company more enjoyable.

Environment is not the professional business office that I am accustomed to. Management is not prepared daily as should be to keep employees engaged. Team support needs to be consistent.
