It is a stressful work environment
Collections Representative (Former Employee) –  Irving, TXApril 12, 2019
The things they expect you to do with certain insurance payers is crazy. Yes the goal is to get money in but it's really no support from management. Our Director is not professional at all. She talks to us crazy. She makes the work environment very hostile. They claim no negativity but she is a very negative person herself. It seems like other members of management are scared to speak up to her. She needs to respect us all and be supportive and be more realistic in the goals. Insurance companies make changes all the time. Be more encouraging and not treat us like we are disposable.
Pros
My coworker's are the best!
Cons
Management no real training

Proceed with Caution!
Collector (Former Employee) –  Irving, TXApril 2, 2019
Manager is a complete joke. Has stooges that will help sabotage great people and will go to great lengths to make sure they're fired or forced to quit. The highest level of insecurity anyone could imagine. Employees dont offer great work because management will not acknowledge or accept it.
No team building, no professionalism, no respect. Lack of team!
Upside down company, the great people that should be in a leadership role are placed as understudies so they wont outshine. Trick great people to work there to be treated like third class citizens.

It was great collaborating with the corporate board at Progenity. I personally learned a lot from the various meetings we had about their technology and future plans for manufacturing.

Sketchy
Reproductive Genetics Specialist (Former Employee) –  San Diego, CAMarch 27, 2018
Sketchy business practices. No goal transparency and lofty goals. Like anywhere there are some terrific people that do or did work there, but not in the spots where they need to be.

Don't waster your time
BDM (Former Employee) –  CaliforniaMarch 7, 2018
I wouldn't recommend this job. The bonuses are hard to achieve as there is so much competition in the work place and there is nothing that makes Progenity stand out.

This would be a great place to work if management wasn't so cutthroat when it comes to their authority. They use temp agencies to hire collectors and then treat people like children with constant degrading. They also will put you in situations where you're fully not prepared but expected to perform at a perfect level. The people are experienced and great to work with. The management needs to get off they're high horse because they continue to lose great people due to management.

pay, schedule, people

Don't Quit your day job
Business Development Manager (Former Employee) –  TexasApril 15, 2016
The NIPT market is tired, dry, and dying. This is a company that will sell you a culture that doesn't exist and sell you a fun and exciting work environment of which it is not. You can be a top sales rep today and easily the bottom feeder rep the next. They terminate people as quickly as they hire them (on average around 6 months if you are new - and the 90 day probationary period AND training is a joke) without much explanation and have a bad culture of speaking ill about those who left. If you don't mind looking over your shoulder and being in constant paranoia of getting fired - come on board! Beware of management, they are all liars and tend to tell reps what they want to hear to keep them selling. Pricing changes everyday, product messaging changes daily, and no one knows what they are doing or talking about in the billing and marketing departments. If you want a job where you have security its not here! You have to sign an "at-will" contract and they will execute it in the most blindsighted manner. Read cafepharma....at least 85% is 100% spot on.
Pros
Client relationships
Cons
Management, executive management, cut-throat nature of sales, early termination
