All work done in a fab shop, at the GE Oil and Gas campus, out of the changing weather conditions. Proserv was a subcontractor.
At times, hours were very demanding. Some schedules were 3:00 am to 3:pm. Getting to work was difficult at times, to get there at 3:00am. Hours changed on the weekends, to accommodate 8-10 hours on Saturday and Sunday.
Evening shift was better, coming in at 3:00pm, and getting off at 1:30am. Hours changed on the weekends, to accommodate 8-10 hours on Saturday and Sunday.
Both shifts had their own 'clicks'. Dayshift was difficult to 'fit in', as the Latins were most of the supervisors, and spanish was spoken most of the time.
Evening shift had their 'click' of white people that were former dope-heads. Some sucked-up to the supervisors, by bringing them Moster drinks and hot meals.
Oil prices fell, and about 85-90% of Proserv employees were laid off. Rehire is a possibility of oil prices go up.
Competive pay, excellent benefits
Long hours, strange work schedule, until lay-off came.
