Profits are placed above patient and staff safety
Director (Former Employee) –  Culver City, CAMay 19, 2019
Prospect Medical Holdings values profits for the owners above the safety of their patient and staff. Employee benefits are minimal, the top tier health insurance is $270 a month with a 20% co-insurance each office visit and no 401K matching. Many facilities are old and maintenance is seriously lacking. Many roofs leak leading to wet floors and moldy walls. Staff complaints of safety issues are ignored or is met with retaliation and termination.

Quality Care Coordinator (Former Employee) –  Orange, CAMay 11, 2019
Toxic, unproductive, unprofessional, and team morale doesn't exist. Upper management will throw you under the bus when you resign and a lot of gossip. From management to coworkers. A lot of favoritism and a lot of complaining. Maybe other departments are different, but P4P nope.
Pros
Pay
Cons
Short breaks, the department, not good training

Prospect is experiencing financial issues related to its solvency. Their owners appears to be either cashing out or positioning it for sale. The overall environment is very stressful.

its a good place for A-type personalities but turnover is very high
Vice President of Revenue Cycle (Current Employee) –  East RegionMarch 8, 2019
Prospect is a private equity firm with focus on maximizing profit. There are opportunities for advancement due to high turnover. Performance expectations are very high and not meeting them may result in termination. Staffing is lean so expect long hours. most people are in stretch roles.
Pros
performance driven culture
Cons
most performance goals are stretch goals with lean staffing. no 401 match.

Stressful Environment .. Culture is toxic
Support Coordinator (Current Employee) –  Orange, CAFebruary 14, 2019
Its very difficult working at prospect medical, every new director who is hired focuses on all the non-relevant day to day non issue activities, that have no real impact on daily functions. To micromanage a department that has proved it self to run in a self sufficient capacity is non-sense. This is not a strength. You earn no respect. Thus far, there has been no evidence of a strong knowledgeable individual running the department. LEADERSHIP IS BASED ON INSPIRATION, NOT DOMINATION; ON COOPERATION, NOT INTIMIDATION. Leadership is about vision and responsibility no power.

Highly political culture; lacks cohesion; many fear losing their job without cause. Facilities run lean to the point of not always following California laws.

Flexible Managment
Corporate Tax Director (Current Employee) –  Orange, CADecember 14, 2018
There are great people at Prospect who are willing to help and work very hard.

Management is pretty flexible. The hardest part of the job is the volume and the reconciliation of the information received.

The are lots of projects to work and a great place to learn new things if you are interested in broadening your knowledge and like to learn.

Hostile Work Environment
Telephonic Nurse Case Manager (Current Employee) –  Orange, CAOctober 17, 2018
1. To much work & not enough staff or time to complete it.
2. Company sets unrealistic goals which are unattainable & never met.
3. No organized training.
4. No communication between staff, management or other departments in the company.
5. Would consider the company a Hostile Work Environment over all.
6. Massive turnover in staff.

Great Place to work if you get the right manager
Other (Current Employee) –  Orange, CAOctober 9, 2018
The only consistency in this company is their inconsistency. Each manager has their own ideas of how an employee should be treated, who should get perks and who shouldn't . The dress code, also, varies from manager to manager. The upper management wants you to think that you can have fun there, however, all this fun is only on your own time, unless you have one of those managers who has their own rules.
I am a hard worker and I have never called out sick in 4 years and I don't feel appreciated.
Pros
Employees are the best around
Cons
Inconsistent policies and managers. No 401K match.

Horrible
Director of Business Development (Current Employee) –  Los AngelesOctober 3, 2018
Senior leadership has exciting wrong ways of conducting business! There is a lot of incompetent individuals who are only there to bring the wors to the organization. It is not a peaceful work environment, reports loss its way to the C-level. Some of the VPs does not know management, architect team, projects, respect others. There are few PVs without any redemption point their finger on other when they are one should be blamed.
There is no trust or loyalty.
Highest employment turnover.

Great opportunity to learn managed care business. If you want to learn a lot about this business no better training ground than this employer, but insufficient training and overload of work. Be ready for a challenge. Poor benefits but competitive pay

Working at Prospect Medical
Performance Programs Quality Care Coordinator (Current Employee) –  Orange, CAJune 27, 2018
I work 40+ hours a week.
Pay is not very good considering the amount of tasks that are assigned on a daily basis. The work environment is good when morale is kept in encouragement. Unfortunately prospect medical does not match 401k and health benefits are pricey. Over all, it is a great place to get your foot in the door and soak up as much information as possible for future endeavors.
Pros
flexibility with hours and PTO requests
Cons
No 401k match, health benefits are a little pricey, difficulty in company advancement
