Great company to work for
RN (Current Employee) - Costa Mesa - October 14, 2021
Featured review
Providence selected this as a representative reviewThe managers are supportive, the nurses are some of the best around. No one is on call, we all have set shifts. Opportunities for OT if you want it. Compensation and benefits are really good. The healthcare costs are among the most reasonable you could find anywhere. That's the benefit of having Providence/St Joes's behind Sea Crest. Highly recommend this company!
Pros
Benefits, compensation, Pto
Cons

You get a lot of hours. It can be stressful at times but it is the medical field.
CNA Student (Former Employee) - Seward, AK - December 1, 2023
A typical day for LTC is twelve hours. I learned there is still more to learn. Management is easy to work with. They have a strong work culture. The hardest part was finding housing and affordable transportation. The best part of the job is knowing the residents do appreciate your work, time and compassion.
Pros
A lot of work hours with good pay.
Cons
Housing and transportation costs.

Jobs at Providence
Poor Management
LPN Clinic Nurse (Current Employee) - Lacey, WA - November 27, 2023
Don't be fooled into thinking this large corporate company will take care of you. The worst managers I have ever seen, I have met at this place. They will not treat you well. If you are good at ignoring that treatment and doing things you're told without worrying about your license or ethics you'll like it here .
Pros
A lot of different areas to work. Gain experience.
Cons
Work with real mean people.

It was a great place to work until the pandemic. After that, everything changed for the worst. The people that are still left on site are great.
Technical Support Analyst (Former Employee) - Renton, WA - November 22, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? It used to be the people but since the pandemic and upper level management change they have lost their way What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Waiting for the next reorg wondering if you will be let go

This company do not value employees
Office Representative (Current Employee) - Mission Viejo, CA - November 18, 2023
This company makes employees use PTO for holidays. They refuse to pay us holiday pay and make us use our well earned pto for them. Constantly changing hours without notice, most enjoyable part of day is going home, can never do anything right.
Pros
Nothing, maybe pay is better than other jobs
Cons
Management, pay, use of own pto for holidays, micromanagement, training sucks

The people you work with make up for the upper management's lack of knowledge.
Certifed Nursing Assistant (Former Employee) - Olympia, WA - November 16, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? The people that work and receive care there .. the upper management is unfortunately not connected to the staff so have no idea of the jobs being done on the floor. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? The upper management changing things without knowing how the jobs are actually done. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? When I started it was very family oriented. When I left it was for profit. What is a typical day like for you at the company? On your feet 12 hours running. But the fellow staff are just brilliant.

Pleasant work environment. It feels like family to me.
LPN (Current Employee) - Missoula, MT - November 7, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? In my dept there is an exceptional management team who listen to their employees, promote teamwork, encourage continued education, and provide us with competitive pay and benefits. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Occasional computer issues. I wouldn't say stressful, its more frustrating. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? In my dept it is uplifting and we work together very well as a team. What is a typical day like for you at the company? I look forward to starting my remote workday. No stress, manageable workload. and we have assigned duties each morning and afternoon.

Stressful workplace, but good coworkers
Patient Safety Attendant (Sitter) (Current Employee) - Everett, WA - November 5, 2023
Management doesn't seem to really care that much, but the staff support each other, which makes it bearable. We do miss a lot of breaks, though. There's a lot of turnover because of the poor staff conditions.
Pros
Fast-paced environment, helpful coworkers
Cons
Breaks are irregular and infrequent, staffing is BAD

Fun organized place to work
CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant (Former Employee) - Colville, WA - November 4, 2023
It is a hard job as a CNA. The pay is not equal to what work you out in for the patients. The co Workers are like family and they take care of each other. They take care of education and support you Ali g your journey. Not much room for advancement until you become a nurse.
Pros
College paid for.
Cons
Pay scales

Good pay, bad environment
Food & Nutrition Ambassador (Former Employee) - Spokane, WA - November 1, 2023
The pay is good, and you get great benefits, including a retirement fund. But the management treats the employees pretty badly. The nurses are nice and there is opportunity for movement if you want to.

Great organization
Laboratory (Current Employee) - Montana - November 1, 2023
Wonderful culture, mission, and people. Benefits are top notch. Truly caring organization- even through tough decisions. Future is difficult to predict due to instability of healthcare industry but I have total faith this organization will figure it out.

Productive and professional
RN (Current Employee) - Anchorage, AK - October 30, 2023
Best place to work by far! I have been to many different facilities in my career in healthcare in Alaska and I can’t say enough about providence and how they have helped to get me to where I am today!

Old and run poorly
Patient Care Technician (Former Employee) - Columbia, SC - October 29, 2023
The building was old and slightly rundown, definitely needed upgraded, management was not the best, floor workers were great though. It’s now owned by a different company so hopefully a better place to work.

Very chill, but not much to do
Clinic RN (Current Employee) - Portland, OR - October 26, 2023
I came here from a high-acuity hospital setting in hopes that I can rebuild my love for nursing after being burnt out. It is extremely chill at the clinic I am at, but other than triage calls there isn't a lot to do. And the pay is half of what I made in the hospital, but at least I don't want to die anymore, so that's a win I guess?

Bullied while still in training..clicks and gossip, putdowns, worked in hostile envirement,
CNA - Certified Nursing Assistantmedford (Former Employee) - Medford, OR - October 26, 2023
I was disappointed and hurt that they have no managers that wanted to make you a success...instead they talk about you and hoping you'll leave if you are great at your job.

salary increases are not a thing
Claims Specialist (Current Employee) - Oregon - October 26, 2023
They call the annual increase a merit raise. But it's not at all based on merit and amounts to a few pennies. ($0.56 in 2023) That is about $1165/ year, but my cost for benefits increased by $1170/year. I made no changes to my benefits elections. They refuse to negotiate salary increases if you are offered a promotion. It's take it or leave it. And the promotion increase? $0.95. That's not a typo.
Pros
Work from home
Cons
pay; lack of training

DEI and Jesus Don’t Go Well Together
Patient Services Representative (Current Employee) - Seattle, WA - October 26, 2023
So sick of having DEI and unconscious bias shoved in my face, as well as mask mandates. Love helping people. Dislike healthcare and public health after all the Covid indoctrination
Pros
Medical for the needy
Cons
Management disconnected from workers
