PTR Baler and Compactor is a leading producer of trash compactors and vertical balers. We are proud to count some of America’s biggest retailers as our clients. This, along with our long history as a family owned and operated company makes for a solid foundation and a truly great place to work.

This translates to steady work for our employees. Steady work means steady income. This allows us to pay above industry average pay. In addition our compensation and benefits package is stellar. This includes Medical, Dental and Vision insurance 100% paid for by PTR for each full time employee. Life insurance is also provided in additon to two pensions.

PTR is also very focused on company culture. We value each employee and want their input. We routinely run collaborative meetings to hear what employees think concerning ways we can improve our product, process, facility and quality. Over the decades, 1,000’s of suggestions have been implemented resulting in PTR becoming a leader in this industry. If you’re a welder or fitter that wants to share ideas and add value, work for one of the best in the business and be a part of something thats more than just a job. Manufacturing in America means something again. We help our customers keep operations smoothly and they know they can rely on us. You’ll be proud to know you’re helping some of America’s biggest and best companies get the job done.

You can also grow with the company. If you’re interested in continuing to add to your skill set you would be a good fit. This includes forklift training, safe crane operation, blue prints, AWS welding and English as a 2nd language classes or training.

Our plant is multicultural with over five languages and tight communities that have had steady work for decades allowing them to form extended families at work. These guys eat lunch, pray and vacation together when they’re not working. It makes for a more meaningful and enjoyable work day.

Many of our employees have worked at PTR for 10, 20 or 30 years. For example Bob Walker who started in our Electrical Dept is now Director of Manufacturing. He has worked here for 35 Years. Anytime a large part of the work force has been employeed a place for a long time, thats a good indication of a healthy culture. PTR was named an “Employer of Choice” by the City of Philadelphia in 2019.
