Inexperienced Administrators
teacher (Former Employee) –  Bronx, NYSeptember 4, 2018
The administrators are not even qualified to be teachers, let alone administrators. The Girls Prep Bronx principal allows teachers to teach without having handed in lesson plans making the school a babysitting and daycare rather than an academic institution. Extremely unprofessional and toxic work environment.
Pros
Salary and Benefits
Cons
inexperienced Board

Public Prep is not what It used to be. There used to be a warm school culture and now it is ruined by a network that doers not value it's employees and the relationships they have with families.
Pros
The students

Student Recruitment Assistant (Former Employee) –  New York, NYSeptember 15, 2017
I would have to say the most enjoyable part of this job was making calls to the parents of the children applying and hearing the joy in their voices that their child got into such a great school.

Public Prep Network works hard for kids
Technology Director (Current Employee) –  New York, NYNovember 11, 2016
It is a pleasure to work fr PPN. The organization works hard to stay on track to help advance student learning. In a charter school field that sometimes sees extreme measures to get results, Public Prep applies sound methodologies, and learns from its mistakes to make forward progress.

Happy to have been a part of a growing phase the network went through. A very pleasurable place to work

Teacher (Former Employee) –  New York, NYOctober 21, 2016
Network has catching up to do compared to other successful charters.
A lot of time is taken to put out small fires. Turn over rate is high due to high demands.
Pros
Collaboration between teachers
Cons
Long hours, new management, low test scores, PD needs work
