Cashier/Customer Service in Florida

Job was decent but pay was not enough. They also baby the customers too much, saying not a problem is apparently rude to customers. They didn’t back you up either if customer was rude because customer is always right.

It's ok untill you get to management, then you life goes out the door. They fuss if you do to much and then fuss because the job isn't done. You can't win for losing with this company. Don't expect to get promoted if you're over 50 years old either.

If Publix is the sanity check for customers looking for great customer service then it is also one for individuals looking for a great place to work. As a rehire with Publix Supermarkets I take pride in the fact that not only do I own a share of the company but that the company is flexible and overall leading the regional market in grocery in the southeast. I like knowing that in my position, most recently as a cashier, my job duties and what is required are clearly explained and I won't get hung up doing someone else's job. The employee care programs, some that even go far as to deal with your personal mental health shows just how much Publix cares for its employees. The workplace culture is family-oriented and I feel at home within the organization. I would assuredly work for Publix again in the future. 😄

It’s okay for your first or second job but the pay just isn’t worth it. If you want to have something just to past the time, highly recommended. Sadly no discounts for employees.

Overall Publix is a nice place to work because the customers are great but upper management is like a revolving door and unless you’re willing to work any hours - you’re kind of shuffled to the side
