Nothing, if they want to leave then you are not getting 100% from them so move them out and pay attention to your good employees. Every store has the employee that would rather be playing video games, get rid of them. Catch your employees doing something right and tell them good job! Goes a long way.

1) Get rid of "problem" employee's

2) Be mindful of who you put on the shift. If they're not properly trained, don't put them in the line of fire. Also, don't expect me to do my job AND your job and train them. Keep them on mid shift and have them observe and YOU (mangers) be more hands on. Don't just put them on night shift while you're in the morning. It's double work because of your laziness.

3) STOP LEAVING YOUR STUFF UNFINISHED IN THE MORNING FOR NIGHT CREW TO FINISH FOR YOU!!!! Absolutely my biggest nitpick. While morning crew gets to leave when their time hits, night crew goes nowhere until the department is cleaned. They do this in my department all the time. Unbelievably unfair.

1) Get rid of the "problem" employee's who make it an uneasy environment.

2) Managers need to train newcomers at the start, and not put them in the line of fire on someone else's shift rather than their own knowing they don't know much (especially on the closing shift). It's double work for everyone. I especially hate it when the managers tell you, because your full time, to train them. Because I can totally do my job AND your job to train them at the same time.

3) My biggest nitpick (being that I usually close 4/5 days of the week, sometimes 5/5) STOP LEAVING STUFF YOU DIDN'T FINISH IN THE MORNING FOR NIGHT CREW TO DEAL WITH!!!!! Unlike morning crew who can immediately leave when their shift is over. We can't leave until the deli (my department, but I speak in general) is finished. So please, finish off what you started.

Work with your staff and not against them. Be mindful of their college schedules after all it was not hidden when they were hired that they attended college.

Be fair and respectful to all employees regardless of who you like and dislike or don't care for. Don't use power to control people you never know what people are going through. Get to know your employees for yourself. Work with.your staff not against them. Be willing to train properly and retrain when necessary
