Pulte homes was a wonderful place to work.
Housing Consultant (Former Employee) - Chantilly, VA - April 16, 2020
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedAs far as sales/customer service it is a wonderful company to work for and they try to stay on the leading edge of customer service and competitiveness. The only downfall is is if they have a community for you to work after you’re finished with the one you’re assigned to. It’s all about Your land positions. All in all I made a very good living with Pulte homes and I enjoyed myself very much.

It is a great place to work when you want to have a balanced lifestyle. The bonus is excellent; the overall benefits are about average for the industry.

Great people. Awesome culture. People there know what they're doing. Not only is the customer care outstanding but the sales and construction management team are just as good.

Disfigured culture that is a shell of what it used to be
Sales Couselor (Former Employee) - Naples, FL - November 3, 2023
Once leadership changed around 2015 and the SW FL division started making money the sole focus it started to go downhill. At first, this was great for the bottom line. Slowly but surely, here we are 8 years later and most of the great managers are long gone to never return. Due to the fact that they started capping commissions (and in some cases, not paying their sales people) they lost some of the greatest talent in the region to sheer greed. Very unfortunate, but a warning to what can happen when you forget that your people are the reason the company was successful in the first place. Remember, all decisions start at the top. ;)
Pros
Job security
Cons
Constantly reducing commissions, capping commmissions, increasing workload, and not paying out commissions

Stable company with corporate realities. If you do finally well in a year, you better do better the next
Construction Manager (Current Employee) - Westborough, MA - September 5, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? They pay on time, every time. Established vendor relationships mean you will get completed work....... eventually What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Lack of alternative resources at times. Especially when needed What is a typical day like for you at the company? Alot of homeowner interaction. To the point that you cannot ensure quality construction work because you are constantly dealing with homeowners

Ineptness on building process of Management
Construction Superintendent (Former Employee) - Mission Viejo, CA - September 1, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? None , Upper management has no clue on how builder templates function ! What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Looking the homeowners in the face and telling them that they have a quality home when in fact this builder does the absolute bare minimum build their home What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Each employee looks out for themselves ! No team environment. What is a typical day like for you at the company? No longer there .. Builder let me go and didn’t even give me an explanation !! It was expected , not a trusting place to work!

Made good money but with a hefty personal toll on well being.
Coordinator (Former Employee) - Texas - August 9, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Good pay is the only positive thing to be said. Culture and chaotic atmosphere was heavy and toxic. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? 4 managers with full autonomy for first 4 years to a micromanaging and toxic manager What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Very toxic and degrading . “Click-ish”. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Extremely busy and non stop work/ problem solving and babysitting other departments

Temp at best
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) - San Antonio, TX - July 22, 2023
Management watches out for each other no matter how good you are. Turnover is high and you are told and made clear everyone is replaceable ! HR is a joke and NOTHING is anonymous.

Top Company in the Nation
Construction Manager (Former Employee) - Myrtle Beach, SC - July 19, 2023
With pulte it’s family! They take care of their own… NATION WIDE! I can not say enough from the bottom to the top everyone is there for each other, team Oriented results drive family! Absolutely amazing place to work! I only left for family reasons, and they did everything in their power, short of opening a Division where I was heading, to accommodate any and all of my issues as they arose !

No longer fun
Project Manager (Current Employee) - Fort Myers, FL - June 29, 2023
Company culture has changed over time. Horrible leadership and no guidance from managers. Force builders to close homes that are unfinished causing unhappy homeowners, the Ultimately take things out on builders

Great Place to Work. Great people to work with.
Land Development Manager (Current Employee) - Tennessee - June 24, 2023
One area that PulteGroup can improve upon is the PayScale for its land development managers. Extremely talented group of individuals, but there are low advancement opportunities and difficult for pay increases. This is a nationwide company so they have great programs and resources at your disposal.

Stressful, in that had to learn on my own with minimal supervision
Construction Manager (Former Employee) - Wylie, TX - June 22, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Good pay for the expected work What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Nearly no training of the use of the company tools. Focus high on Customer Experience, but no actual training of processes. Learning from doing is not a good way to allow an employee to succeed. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Good working environment for the most part, but not much insight into preparing for “next steps”. Example is thrown into a new subdivision by myself with no internet, no construction trailer, and no familiarity with any construction trades. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Arrive at Jobsite before 7:30am. Unlock and walk homes to update schedule. Walk work in progress and communicate with trades to ensure no issues. Call for inspections when needed.
