Manufacturing Associate in Sanborn, NY

I enjoy my work at pyrotek. However most of the buildings are not heated in the winter and it is freezing cold only a few people have heaters in these buildings and everyone else has to suffer. The management at pyrotect is great. The benefits are so so. The PTO is accrued so when you just start you don't really have any time you have to earn it. All in all though if you don't mind freezing your butt off in the winter and sweating your butt off in the summer I would recommend pyrotek.

Pyrotek Sanborn is a company that continues to let the workers down. At times the work environment can be toxic. Recently a physical altercation seemed to be handled improperly between two employees. Instead of following the corporations policy it appears that it was either covered up or just ignored. Safety is also not a top priority. The company has gone through several safety coordinators in recent years. They always seem to wise up to the sub-par conditions and violations that they inevitably will be responsible for. Seeking clear cut answers from management can feel pointless. It seems the mentality is to just give non answers as to never be held accountable for what is said or done on even the smallest of situations. Dealing with HR can also be very frustrating. Not hearing back in a timely manner and being given the run around are very common. That has almost always been the case hearing from coworkers. The pay is competitive in the area, the benefits are okay and there's always overtime available. Most people that work here stick around, not much is expected from the workforce. So being overworked isn't a factor but gotta be careful trusting managements decisions. Corners are cut at times in order to make deadlines. Luckily no one has gotten hurt but the culture isn't changing. If you do bring up concerns about safety, procedures and culture; you get non answers or just empty platitudes that never lead to any real change. Management comes off as more worried about rising up to the next level in the corporate structure rather than working together for the betterment of the company and workforce. To the point of infighting and petty spats. Overall there are definitely worse places to work but not many. The pay and older workers just looking to make it to retirement are why folks stick around.

Strong family feel. People generally care about others, quality of work, serving the customer and building a brighter future. Adapts well to change.

Management encourages innovation. Strategy for long term employee growth domain competency is must and such people shuld be hired.

Laid back atmosphere, basically as long as you show up on time and manage to do your job right 75% of the time you’d have nothing to worry about. There is absolutely no room for career growth and management has zero interest in helping you grow, you either figure out what you can do to broaden your horizons on your own, or you embrace just running a machine for the rest of your time there.
