Stable Non-Profit with Family Feel
Staff Member (Current Employee) –  Los Angeles, CAApril 16, 2019
This is a good solid job with benefits and a mission to do good in the community. All of the people I work with really care about patients and the neighborhoods they work in. It is a fast-paced environment, but health care typically is.

Some negative stuff is that there are some staff that have been here a long time and are very resistant to change, or worse yet, don't want to do anything beyond their job description. Can be a downer if you have a ton of energy and others won't pull their weight.
Pros
Benefits, Friendly Coworkers, Paid Holidays
Cons
Old-fashioned, Some Negativity, Turnover

Great mission
Staff Member (Current Employee) –  Los Angeles, CAApril 15, 2019
I'm impressed by the dedication of the staff and the strong mission. It's uncommon to interact with staff that are not engaged in their work. There isn't much downtime and staff has to do many different things but it keeps things interesting.
Pros
Serving the community, good benefits, strong commitment by the staff, lots of chances to learn new things
Cons
Email heavy environment, so many meetings, people tend to be dramatic when changes occur.

Human Resources Generalist (Former Employee) –  Los Angeles, CAMarch 17, 2019
I fell in love with the mission. Too bad it is not followed internally. After so many direct complaints, why was it not looked into? You would think that the constant turnover in HR of all places would have been a red flag.
Pros
great buiding cafeteria upstairs
Cons
leadership is not professional. Or worse, think they are.

LVN CASE MANAGEMENT (Former Employee) –  EAST LOS ANGELESDecember 18, 2018
Horrible company to work for. No advancement, management pleases "favorites", high turnover, $0.10 Cent raises (this is the "maximum" you can get), over worked with low pay starting rate.
Pros
If your fresh out from school and need a job, This is for you.
Cons
$0.10 Cent raises.

They need a reality check
Nurse (Former Employee) –  HollywoodOctober 23, 2018
As I mentioned, QueensCare does attract passionate employees who care about the community. However, these employees burn out quickly, due to the culture at the health centers. There is generally a high turn over rate in HR and in providers. QueensCare cannot retain valuable employees. While the mission/vision of QueensCare is noble in it's origins and in it's intentions, the organization has become tone-deaf to the needs of the population they serve. I've witnessed patients treated poorly due to the insensitivity of the staff. But the issue is largely with upper management/executive leadership. They have not implemented any processes to address cultural insensitivity among staff (including support staff, not just providers/MDs) or to help retain possible change agents in their midst. Leadership doesn't seem to understand that the reason that patients are leaving is because they don't feel valued in the clinic.
Pros
decent benefits package, an opportunity to serve the marginalized
Cons
poor leadership, high turnover rate

I have enjoyed working at Queenscare and have learned a lot from there. I normally registered patients and went over their demographics and would check their insurances.

Lazy,non-competent people with no respect
IT (Former Employee) –  Los Angeles, CAJuly 14, 2018
The culture of the company has no respect. People who work there come from the not good background with no good ethics. Often management is not working/discriminatory.
It is a very poor culture and would be very stressful for a high-achiever person who wants to challenge himself/herself.
Unless you are low-key, not wanting much from life - then it is your place to work at. You will not learn anything there except bad habits that will stop you from joining a very good company down the road.
I would not recommend that place to anybody.
Pros
located at federal reserve bank - so it is safe
Cons
so many cons i dont know where to end

PATIENT SERVICES II (Former Employee) –  East Los Angeles, CAMarch 13, 2018
Doctor didnt care for patients, doctors would call off left and right, no dental training so if you start and make a mistake the dental department was really rude and mean, will say that they accept walk ins but if you put a walk in patient on the doctors schedule they will get mad and if you ask they would say not so what do you do??? I hope things have change with new management but that was my experience there .

Turnover off the chain
Other (Former Employee) –  Los Angeles, CADecember 4, 2017
A (happy) thriving, busy medical and dental practice was been run into the ground by the CEO (family member) who replaced the deceased founder and former CEO. The turn over was/is so extreme, it destabilized the entire operation and has made a mockery of the organization in the community. The employees left are simply collecting checks. Patients counts are misrepresented. Government funding for equipment and supplies woefully mismanaged.

HR dept is corrupt and bullies employees
Former employee (Former Employee) –  Los Angeles, CAJuly 19, 2016
Very high turnover. HR Management and dept and Upper Management is corrupt and does not take employee concerns seriously. Will bully you if you have a complaint and blame you. Hostile work environment. Stay away for your own sanity. Not patient centered, numbers driven.
Pros
Multiple clinic sites
Cons
Poor company morale caused by hostile HR VP and upper management.

Certified Medical Assistant (Former Employee) –  Los Angeles, CAApril 19, 2016
Work environment changed towards a negative direction, no one seemed to want to work there, no real management no cooperation amongst employees. Hard time retaining employees, including doctors through out organization due to demand to see more patients. No organization, or standardization through out company, complete free for all.
Pros
offers health benefits including vision and dental.

Health Center Manager (Current Employee) –  Los Angeles, CANovember 12, 2015
QueensCare is an entry level company that is willing to train staff with no experience. Many CMAs that have no work experience start their carreers there. Productivity is important and patient care is a prority. They have many programs for low income families and will not turn away patients based on ability to pay.
Pros
Director is fun to work with.

It is a friendly work environment, only team players are working in this company, great management, co-workers always helping, going that extra mile.
