I enjoyed it until I found out they really didn't have my back.
Merchandiser (Former Employee) - Georgia - June 16, 2023
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedOverall I enjoyed traveling and the perks that came with being full time. I liked meeting new people and new places. Most of the managers I worked with were nice to work with. When I had some health problems they were understanding. But the problems started after I had gotten into a little fender bender and my insurance company totaled my car out and I didn't know I didn't have rental insurance. So I explained what happened and I was told that no they wouldn't fly me to my next location or offered me a rental so if I couldn't get there on my own then my only option was to just take the rest of December off since it was the slow season. I got my car situation fixed before the new year. I bought it through an online company that delivers cars. I was to go back to work on Jan 15 and everything was good until January 9th the transmission went out. I let them know the same day it happened and was told if I couldn't get to where I was assigned by the 15th I would be terminated. Well I I tried and my bad luck just kept hitting me. My ride cancelled on me to the bus stop and no affordable flights till the middle of the week. I let them know that I couldn't make it till the next week and they let me know that wasn't good enough. Didn't even let me use my vacation time. Made me feel like they didn't believe me or that they had been looking for a way to get rid of me. The thing is I know they helped others out and also gave to many chances to other workers for worse things. So I felt betrayed when I was let go so easily. The universe really screwed me over this year.
Pros
Food expense card, gas card, mileage paid, nice hotels
Cons
Play favorites, two faced, time away from home if your close to your family you don't see them much

Crew Leader (Former Employee) - Florida - August 5, 2023
They Only worry about upper management employees on low level are treated as a number even if you have been there 10 + years. They do not investigate wrong management practices just cover it up and find a reason to eliminate that employee.

Delightful, has kept me in the same industry to this day.
Recruiting Specialist/senior project leader (Former Employee) - Garden City, NY - April 12, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Management, they really care about their employees. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Job deadlines, but usually tended to be obstacles created by the company we were working for and them not having the proper equipment on the job site when it was suppose to be there. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Very family type oriented, company is family owned and they did treat you like family. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Multiple job sites even if the project were the same. Nice mix of changing scenery.

Productive and Thorough
Crew Leader (Former Employee) - Winston-Salem, NC - April 5, 2023
Great Merchandising Company. Travel a little too much but it's worth it if you can get home for the weekend. Their leadership is very qualified and helpful.

Fun place to work for a short time if you don't mind being on the road all the time
Team Merchandising Lead (Current Employee) - Eastern US - April 2, 2023
Job is good for young people who want to travel. Always on road. Can not mind physical labor. Work with a team of people (and expected to share hotel rooms). The bigger the team, the more the drama, drinking, etc. Most management is reasonable. There are a few exceptions.
Pros
Get to see different parts of country. Pays for gas, phone, laundry, food (per diem), while on road. Most people easy to work with
Cons
On the road 95% + . Not much room for growth beyond team lead

Senior Team Lead Merchandiser (Former Employee) - Garden City, NY - February 11, 2023
It’s a good place to work if you don’t have a family to worry about. Your always on the road. Hardly any weekend because of traveling all over the place.

Undertrained
Retail Merchandiser (Former Employee) - Travelling - January 11, 2023
At the beginning of working at quest, it was alright, I liked the work and all that, but they were just so impatient with their new people. It required one year experience in either retail, or in my former coworkers case, as a carpenter. People were rewarded for either hard work, bullying or being good at pretending to work. The people in charge didn't do anything in means of work, but they were able to organize, though I never saw them help us with work physically or with instruction without getting mad

Associate (Current Employee) - Lake Wales, FL - December 3, 2022
It is a very different role because you are third party so your quality of work depends on the organization of facilities your are partnering with. Enjoyed meeting new people and balancing personalities and delivering on task set out through the night.
Pros
Team base, Develops communication, builds organization
Cons
To many levels of communication, Succession plane from job to job

Project Leads purposefully mislead you into thinking you will advance
Merchandising/Lead in Training (Former Employee) - New York, NY - August 29, 2022
The job in itself is not difficult, what is difficult is the Leads daily TANTRUMS. When I was hired I was lead to believe I would become a fulltime lead, with benefits myself after one project, due to my years of experience., many hired had no experience at all. What happened was, I was doing the lead job as a temporary employee with no pay increases, making less money than I started out with due to traveling. I was considered a lead in training and leading several shifts without any official title.
Pros
Easy work
Cons
Everything was a Con except for the work itself.

Crooks/rip-offs
QA Lead (Former Employee) - Seattle, WA - August 26, 2022
This company is full of lies and false advertisements on their job postings. I requested information and advice several times without resolve/answers. They chose which emails to address and which not to; not even telling someone to not expect a response. Beyond frustrating! They don’t give a care about their employees; not one bit! Actions speak louder than words; people leave bad managers, not bad jobs.

Great company
Traveling Merchandiser (Current Employee) - Garden City, NY - August 13, 2022
Quest is the best merchandiser job I've ever had. They do all the things the others don't. 1- Offer full time employment. -- They DON'T call you part time (so you get no benefits) and make you work full time hours. 2- Benefits after only 30 days 3- Decent medical, dental and life insurance 4- 401k after 9 months 5- Travel pay for time and mileage 6- Per diem for food while traveling 6- Gas card for traveling. 7- Nice hotel rooms 8- Rental cars This company really seems to care about you. They are there for you when you reach out for help. They have a great open door policy! And if you're from out of town from your job location they pay for you to fly home every other week.
Pros
Good company
Cons
Sharing hotel rooms with co-workers you sometimes don't know at first.

Productive, fun work
Traveling Retail Merchandiser (Former Employee) - Illinois - July 20, 2022
Overall, I enjoyed the work, but their is no job stability. Was sent home before project ended due to over staffing. I sent email saying I was highly interested in next project, but heard nothing back. Was very disappointed with the lack of communication. Seems like they want people for projects that are within driving distance so they don’t have to pay for hotel.

Hard work decent pay
Project Leader (Former Employee) - Garden City, NY - June 21, 2022
The job can be demanding but the compensation is fair. To move up is not that easy despite high turnover. Management could do a better a job at coaching.

Great to gain experience!
Recruiter (Current Employee) - Garden City, NY - June 15, 2022
A typical day at work truly varies on how many things need to be done (ie what interviews need to be scheduled, how many potential candidates we need to speak to, etc). I've learned a lot since I've been here and I feel like every day there's still something new to be learned. The culture is great- we all get along really well on a personal and professional level, and I believe that this contributes to how well we all work together on projects. Our closeness with each other is also one of the best parts of the job. The hardest part of the job is trying not to be discouraged when something doesn't go your way during a day of interviews with candidates. Overall, this is a great place to gain experience with room to advance.

5 stars
HR Director (Current Employee) - Main office, Garden City, NY - June 15, 2022
What is the best part of working at the company? There has been a wonderful sense of comaraderie with all of the co-workers I have been privileged to spend time with or spoken with from the field in many years of service. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? The job requires total commitment and sometimes stretches into 24/7/365. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? It is a pleasure to come to work every day. What is a typical day like for you at the company? I open emails when I wake and the day begins. It is non-stop until I lay my head on the pillow at night.
