Awesome place to work!
Corporate (Current Employee) –  Chicago, ILJanuary 2, 2019
R1 is a great place to work for many different reasons. It is a team oriented environment with great people working together where you have the opportunity to learn and advance with the company. The company is also expanding rapidly, so it's a great time to be with R1!
Pros
Work life balance, solid benefits, advancement opportunities, great office space/location

I learned early on what discretion meant in this company. As long as you’re Mexican, you get all the perks and benefits. If you’re any other race, be prepared for nonstop write ups and unfair disciplinary actions.
Pros
Unlimited Overtime
Cons
Required overtime

Great Company
Patient Service Representative (Former Employee) –  Saint George, UTMarch 19, 2019
Very good to the employees. Good benefits and vacation time off. Transition from IHC in April 2018, and was handled very well by R1. Would work for the company again if I have the chance!

Good Pay, Bad Management
Patient Service Representative (Former Employee) –  Kalamazoo, MIOctober 22, 2018
Managers are extremely unprofessional and disorganized. They do not communicate about job responsibilities and seemingly make up rules whenever they feel like it. They are dismissive and do not take complaints from workers seriously. There is also a lot of favoritism, and people who have zero management skills are promoted to higher positions. It is an endless cycle of poor management.

Whole transition period was awful. When told my job staying was due to it being specific they than completely changed my job role. Loved the original company benefits and set up. They fired tons on team to only hire new people in another state with no experience to do the job.
Pros
Overtime
Cons
No breaks. Expensive benefits

Horrible management
Patient Service Representative (Former Employee) –  Novi, MIMarch 28, 2018
They only care about the money not their employees or patient care. Their upper management never addressed issues brought to their attention. Just brushed under the rug. They never come around in the department. They lie to their employees.

Unsatisfactory
Patient Service Representative (Current Employee) –  Milwaukee, WIAugust 17, 2017
R1 RCM came into my hospital about a year ago, things have actually gotten worse. Most of the people that had been in the department for years have left, meaning they have brought in new unqualified employees who should probably be working at Wal-Mart. They reprimand the good employees who show up every day and do their job as best as possible, but the bad employees are coddled and given advancements.

Too many to list

Just an ok place to work
Patient Service Representative (Former Employee) –  Warren, MINovember 2, 2016
They should have more training for new hires because they expect you to meet requirements within a week of two. While I was there, I witnessed they fired so many people over 40 although they were the most efficient and knowledgeable. I wouldn't recommend this place to anybody unless they are unable to find work elsewhere. The compensation was not good and the raises were just as bad.

Patient Financial Services Representative (Current Employee) –  Southfield, MIJuly 2, 2016
Have worked for Accretive for 3 years doing billing, so far have been through 3 different CEO's and many other upper management changes. People come and go left and right. Most of our work is in India. The health insurance is expensive. The best part of the job is we get 6 sick days up front in the beginning of the year. The worst part is dealing with the India team and trying to clean up the messes.
Pros
Sick days
Cons
Outsourced business, inconsistent management
