Good workplace
Crew Member (Former Employee) - Menifee, CA - December 10, 2023
Nice staff, high standards for cleanliness and quality. The training is thorough and prepares you well for the job itself. Better work environment than other fast food restaurants.

Raising Cane's insights
What people like
- Feeling of personal appreciation
- Supportive environment
- Clear sense of purpose
The only reason I stayed was the crew
Shift Manager (Former Employee) - Corpus Christi, TX - December 10, 2023
I was a manager and the crew were more supportive than the management team. I worked at 3 locations over 4 years and found a lot of inappropriate behavior being overlooked by the GMs every one of the restaurants I worked in had management sleeping with crew and heavy favoritism throughout.
Pros
Manager(only) get holiday incentives and a meal per shift
Cons
No breaks for managers, long shifts, late hours.

Micromanagers
Manager (Former Employee) - Los Angeles, CA - December 10, 2023
Canes does a great job for their culture when it comes to team members. For managers, not so much. Lot of micromanagement in the company which is unfortunate.

Great work environment, great management, great coworkers. Only downside is how busy it always is.
Cashier/Customer Service (Former Employee) - Fort Collins, CO - December 7, 2023
You will be assigned to a task until your lunch break, you will then be rushing to keep up will all of the orders, no matter where you are assigned. There is a strong sense of a teamwork and it teaches how to get along with different people, on both sides of the counter. The hardest part of the job is not having the best schedule apps, they use Workday, which is very buggy and has caused a lot of problems in the past. The best part of the job is when you really help a customer have the best experience possible, and especially when you know it.
Pros
50% discount on all combos. Lots of people to cover shifts. And really nice coworkers.
Cons
Insurances are pretty poor. Really busy, it can be stressful, but also makes time go faster. Only 50% off combos, a regular combo will still cost you $10, seeing as there are also no tips, it makes it hard to justify not bringing your own food.

bad management and training
Crew Member (Former Employee) - Chandler, AZ - December 7, 2023
i worked at the one on N Arizona Ave and W Warner. One of the main managers didnt train me then screamed at me for getting something wrong that i was never trained on. Only a 50 cent pay raise for cooking. You wont get a break unless you were 7 hours so they would give me 6hr and 45 minute shifts. managers acted like bratty teenagers except for a few. On the app, they would schedule me for outside expo, then on the wall inside it said cashier then i got yelled at for being on cashier and not asking a manager what to do. and theyd stop scheduling people if they decided they didnt like them
Pros
50% discount
Cons
no break, bad management, rude customers, bad training

Crewpeople were nice but understaffed
Crew Member (Former Employee) - Modesto, CA - December 6, 2023
Managers and crewmembers were cool to work with but, we were never staffed like we were supposed to and we had issues with scheduling often. I would recommend this job if you do not have time-sensitive priorities.

Friendly Employees and Productive Workplace
Crew Member (Current Employee) - Citrus Heights, CA - December 6, 2023
This is a great first job to get as a teenager or as a college student. The pay is fair for the jobs you have to carry out, and the employees are very friendly. Everyone is a hard worker.

Easy First Job

Very easy first job for a teenager. No complaints. Did this while also doing another internship. They were helpful in scheduling me correctly to be able to meet all my hours.

Great place but you have to be dedicated
Crew Member (Former Employee) - Lafayette, LA - December 4, 2023
I loved working there I was an employee for over 2 years. They have such flexible scheduling. Most of the time if I didn’t want a shift I would put it up sometimes even a couple hours in advance and someone would always pick it up. There’s also availability from 7am-4am some days I wouldn’t come in til 10 pm and I liked that. I loved all my managers and everyone there wanted to work and learn more and if they didn’t they wouldn’t last. They do expect a lot out of their employees but it makes for a better working environment. It’s the cleanest place I’ve ever worked at that’s their number one priority you have to be willing to detail clean every single day but it’s very much worth it. It’s the best place I’ve ever worked.

Fun work environment
Crew Member (Former Employee) - Lincoln, NE - December 4, 2023
Was a fun but fast paced work environment, definitely a good choice for a teenager’s first job. Pay wasn’t terrible, it’s easy to work your way up to a manager too.

Terrible management
Crew Member (Current Employee) - Kapolei, HI - December 4, 2023
The mangers sit around and do nothing. They forget to send you on your breaks, then when you ask for one look upset. They constantly switch up your schedule and never have it be the same

The location varies in terms of what kind experience any given worker has. Mostly bad.
Restaurant Manager (full-time) (Former Employee) - Miami Beach, FL - December 3, 2023
I have been with the company for over 3 years. The beginning was a amazing time. My boss was outstanding and the culture and atmosphere was at a all time high. That amazing feeling went away as quickly as it came. When moving to Florida, to get promoted, you have to essentially be "friends" with your superior or at least very close (unprofessionally) to get what you want, when you want. There is no merit system and there is no order when it comes to working at a canes restaurant. Hard work will not pay off when attempting to get promoted nor be at the very least recognised. More specifically the Miami Beach location. I was sold a dream and given a nightmare that will be a bad taste in my mouth for a very long time. The management team does not value it's workers nor customers. The HR department is biased to a extent as to what final verdicts are for staff and will do what they can to make the superior manager not take any "heat" in the process. Along with not maintaining safety and respect for any given employee working at that given facility. I have never seen, experience, nor heard about a job that is as toxic and cruel as this certain location in my life. I would recommend the company as a alright job to apply for, but my only advice would to be to put a lot of research into what happens at the location. But, if anyone were have to choose between Raising Canes or another work place, I would hands down choose the other job.
Pros
50% off daily lunch meals
Cons
Everything else

Cliquey environment
Restaurant Manager (Former Employee) - Columbia, MO - December 3, 2023
The overall environmental was very cliquey and was hard to get crew to follow policy. Pay was good but no work life balance and management above is poor.

Stressful work Environment
Food Service Worker (Former Employee) - Oakland, CA - December 3, 2023
I felt so exploited working here. 1) They were severely understaffed, so anyone working here was expected to do many jobs at once. I would be taking orders, handing out food AND making drinks. There was never a time I was only doing one task. There were very high expectations for being a minimum wage job. 2) You only get 10 minute breaks. After being expected to do 5 tasks at once, you would think they would allow you to have a 15 minute breaks. But no. They overworked us so much. 3) Most of the managers were so unhelpful and did nothing. 4) Scheduling is SO bad. My schedule was never consistent and they always had me stay later then I was scheduled, even if I told them I had to leave when I was scheduled to get off. They asked me to come in nearly everyday because it was so understaffed. I also never got paid for my sick hours that I did not use.
Pros
Friendly cowrokers
Cons
Short breaks, intense work conditions, bad managing

Great experience would actually work there again. Best fast food job I’ve ever worked for.
Cross trained (Former Employee) - North Las Vegas, NV - December 1, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? The team and management were great! Job went fast there’s always something to do. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? The hours weren’t set and I’m a single mom so it doesn’t work. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Diverse and friendly everyone was helpful store stayed cleaned. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Great, fast pace work. Very encouraging to workers.
