Stressful place of employment with very little clear direction

Bodine Electric is a place that at first glance would appear to be a place you would like to call home. But its a lot like a 2 way mirror in many ways. You constantly feel like your being watched, monitored and/or reviewed, yet you never really get to see or talk to the people on the other side of the glass. Like anyone on the wrong side of the mirror, you just wish that someone would turn the light on, reveal themselves, and provide you with a bit if clear direction for a change! If Bodine Electric could find a way to change its culture, increase the flow of information and not make every experience feel like an interrogation where the flow of information was constantly one sided, it actually has the potential (due to its amazing workforce) to be an incredible company!!

great job

bodine is a great company and and awesome place to work they have great benefits and it is a union job so their is alot of stability for employees everyone is very knowledgeable and knows their roles i would definately recommend working here pay is a little low to start but once you become a journeyman the pay is good and their are advancement opportunities

Great people to work for, my boss was excellent with communication and allowed me to expand my horizons.

Billed customers as orders were pulled and sent out UPS or truck freight and also as customers bought from our sales counter. Received mail for our department which was Sales Department and distributed the mail on a daily basis. Did rebates from our Vendors on a monthly basis and profitted the company several thousand dollars more than they were getting when I started. I figured monthly profits and commissions for our inside and outside sales people. Loved working with all the people of the sales department. I also put together a manual for all the jobs in the sales department so that all procedures of each job was known and could be picked up easily by new and incoming employees. Talked with customers and helped keep their accounts straight and up to date. Filled in for the purchasing agent when she was out. Hardest part of the job would have been disgruntled customers but learned to just be friendly and helpful and not worry about their attitudes. The most enjoyable part of the job was getting the rebates done and being able to show a good profit for our department.
