Traveling Team (Former Employee) – Multiple – June 14, 2018
I worked with RE Carroll for a year in a traveling position. The pay is good but moving every three months is difficult and stressful. There is a high turnover rate due to poor management. It is a salaried position for 40 hrs per week but it is very rare to work less than 45-50 hours and you are not paid overtime. The minimum sales quota that is required is unreasonable 8 months out of the year because they do not account for peak moving months and availability. If you choose to take a job with RE Carroll, then I wish you the best of luck but I would not recommend it to anyone.
Assistant Manager (Former Employee) – North Carolina – June 25, 2018
It was a good experience to work at RE Carroll. I worked there for almost six years. A lot to do, but with a great team in place, was easy to do. Everything was good until they brought a new manager that was racist and she did not know what she was doing. Complaining all the time and cussed a lot, calling everyone at corporate names. Too sad that they believed an individual like her more than an employee that was there for so long. At the end of the day she was let go.
good benefits; established company they build and manage
they do not give a chance employees to defend them self's, no chances they just immediately let go, even when it was not something illegal
Senior Property Manager in Charge/Area Manager (Current Employee) – Lexington, SC and Columbia, SC – May 4, 2018
RECM is a good company that has grown and expanded alot during the 7 years that I worked there. The company has a good structure but the employee retention is very low, the company should focus more on their employees and less on the bottom line.
If you’re going to have a career in property management, it is your best bet. RECM is a nice blend of traditional professionalism and forward thinking. You cannot beat the salaries and benefits package for this industry. If you’re someone who is comfortable being accountable for meeting expectations, you will do well. There is huge growth opportunity as the company continues to expand and grow. The culture has shifted immensely over the last year and continues to improve.
Company culture that is welcoming not cut throat. Great compensation. Internal promotions.
Flexibility is required to sustain ongoing changes for the better.
Support Staff (Current Employee) – Greensboro, NC – February 13, 2018
During my time at RECM, I have been given lots of encouragement and I have advanced in my career. I have felt supported while working here. I can tell the owner cares about the company as well as the people. I feel like the upper management genuinely listen to those on site, as well as those of us in the home office. We have had some great leaders and I feel like the company is getting better and better.
That being said, this company expects you to work hard. I can also say that when you work hard, you will be recognized. (Though it may not be immediately.) Be aware, the company is growing and that comes with growing pains but I have seen those getting addressed by upper management.
My advice to anyone coming to work for this company is to make sure you communicate with your teammates and your supervisors. Foster good relationships with the people you work with so that the workload can be shared among the team. This will also help cut down on stress, but it will not get rid of it. Learn to manage your stress, because there will be stress.
I love working here, I hope you do too.
Communication between different departments could be better.

Avoid this management company at all cost. Do some research on their properties as well. Just read some of the reviews from residents. I was with the company for almost 2 years and got nothing but criticism and negativity. I worked as a maintenance supervisor or what I like to call a glorified maintenance tech. I didn't supervise anything. I was maintaining a 298 unit property by myself for over 6 months before they decided to take resumes for hire and I had no say in who to hire. They claim to offer bonuses but they won't hesitate to deduct for stupid things like having a ladder hung in your maintenance shop or a bug in a outdoor light fixture. This company cares more about how a breezway looks over anything else. Upper management is a joke and filled with selfish uneducated employees who only care for themselves. Very sketchy company, you have been warned!
Management is very poor. They can't be trusted. They lie. They cover up incidents. They show favortism. The property manager should be in be investigated for cover ups. The property manager leaves on company time to do personal errands. The maintence supervisor is very lazy and prejudice.

Manager (Current Employee) – Greensboro, NC – August 17, 2017
RE Carroll Management is an excellent company to work for. It is continuously revisiting current policies, procedures, and programs so they are current and most appropriate. I have worked with some people who feel the workload is too much, but I believe those people were looking for something that would allow them to get a paycheck without putting in any effort. If you are one who takes pride in your work, what is asked of you is feasible. The company's culture has always been there but with the fast growth, it seemed to be a bit of a struggle to keep that going in full force. Lately, though, I am seeing it immensely improving.
One owner for entire portfolio, excellent work atmosphere
Understaffing is some areas, but this is getting better
It is a very demanding job for a leasing consultant with this company. A great deal of the expectations for performance will fall solely on you and marketing on social media. A typical day work involves giving tours as they come in, returning calls, problem solving for residents, posting on social media, following up on leads and filling in the gaps where the Assistant Property Manager and Property Manager ask you to. Many times I had to take work home to complete it.
Commission is great
1 weekend off a month, lots of social media posting, challenging position for one person to fill.
Management cares little about employees and residents of their properties. High turn over rate. It's apparent that the main goal is money and they don't care to keep quality employees, even residents will tell you that
Employee (Former Employee) – North Carolina – March 4, 2016
Does not empower employees to succeed. Everything has to be approved by the Senior VP, not sure why they have Regional Managers. Takes forever to complete their communities and then they expect staff with little to no training to be miracle workers and lease up the property at ridiculous rents. The best part of working for them was the people that I worked with.
