FACILITIES CALIBRATION AUDITOR (Former Employee) – Manhattan, NY – January 10, 2018
Started work at 6am due to having a long commute.
Typically I was the first person from my department in work and had to complete taking differential pressure readings of the manufacturing area to allow manufacturing to enter the clean space.
This was critical and had to be performed first thing in the morning when I got in at 6 am.
Reconciled past calibration electronic records with vendor supplied calibration certificates.
Reviewed calibration data in database against calibration records for accuracy and completeness.
Manager would check in and see how things were going in the morning.
Workplace culture was colaborative, but was left alone to complete work on my own.
Hardest part of the job was the commute. I hour morning commute and 1.5 hours for the evening commute was typical.
The most enjoyable part of the job was reconciling records, finding problems and correcting information to electronic records.
Being able to close out and sign off as many open records as possible gave me a sense of accomplishment at the end of every day. The company had a summer barbecue outdoors for all its employees which was very nice.
