Behavioral Health Care Specialist Intern (Former Employee) – Stratford, CT – May 21, 2012
A typical day at wirk consists of case management by assisting clients to maintain their sobriety. I have learned the different stages of addiction and how to help someone take the necessary steps to live a healthier life. Management at this facility was very good, they made sure that their workers along with the clients were being treated fairly and with respect. My coworkers were very helpful with teaching me the different aspects of the job. I feel like the hardest part of the job is getting the proper information from the client but i learned over time that because of this disease an addict is very hesitant to share everything in the beginning. The most enjoyable part of the job is that i get to meet different people everyday and i learn something new on a regular basis.
