Wonderful place of love and compassion
Director (Former Employee) – Charlotte, NC – September 25, 2017
I thoroughly enjoyed and found satisfaction in all that I was able to learn and how much I was able to offer, through my hard work and participation while there.
I worked diligently to see that all participants needs were met, their concerns were addressed, and that they got the support, direction and encouragement that they needed. I taught health and wellness classes including Yoga and Mindfulness, which a great many people loved.
I was able to provide compassionate care to participants and colleagues alike. We were free to use our own management style and for me that was highly effective. It was a free spirited environment, with few rules. This was both lovely and very challenging at times. I need structure and many folks who participated did too.
The most challenging part of my work was not being able to help everyone who needed it. Compassion fatigue and a lack of help was often discussed among staff. Non profits deal with this routinely, so it was not a surprise but it was difficult.
The most enjoyable part of the job was just that. Sharing joy, love, empowerment, consistency and education on just about everything relating to all dimensions of wellness was a wonderful way to spend my day.
every person who works and attends the agency is amazing
