Canine Coach in Woodbridge, VA

Fun Workplace
If you like taking care of dogs, this is a great option! I had a great time working there. You build a really good relationship with the pups and it's hard to frown while you work there. Even if I wasn't in the best of moods going into work, they always seemed to cheer me up while I was there. The dogs don't act out much, and if anything breaks out, the team enters the room immediately to help you. Training isn't too difficult, you just watch videos and take quizzes to test your knowledge on how to break up scuffles, train the dogs, and read their body language. A typical workday consists of opening the rooms by letting dogs out of their crates, and cleaning up after them (like their waste, fur, and left-over food). Theres a morning, mid-day, and closing shift, the earliest being 5:30 am. The cleaning is probably the most difficult part of the job, but you get used to it really fast.

Red Barn does not keep it's promises. They take over a company and change things drastically, then change it again days later. But they rarely communicate the changes until you're getting yelled at (most of the time with unprofessional language and name calling) or worse, written up. They over work their staff with no remorse, even though the higher ups say they will come in to help. And they do sometimes, as long as it's not on their weekend days off, while they're workers are forced to work 10 to 12 days in a row. And no matter what position you're hired for, you're expected to do every position, even if you're mentally and/or physically unable to. If you're desperate for a job until something better comes along, this would be okay. But it's not worth being treated like garbage. Also be prepared for dogs to just become dollar signs.

They like to work their employees to death, they aloe management to talk to employees any way they want and do not get any corrective action done. Company doesn’t follow work restrictions based on doctors notes. They don’t care about the dogs they only care about the money.

I enjoyed all of the people that i worked with and would encourage anyone to try the profession. furthermore there was great management combined with an overall positive attitude that made the dogs life run smoothly while in the facility.

Company was great and cared about their employees. Also I loved this company because they usually promoted people from within as opposed to hiring people above you.
