Great place to feel like you are part of a family!
RN Staff Nurse (Former Employee) –  Red Bud, ILJuly 12, 2018
I really liked working at this hospital. It has a much different atmosphere than what other places do because I think that people work there for the right reasons. Some days are busier than others. The managers come by pretty often to see if there is anything we need and makes you feel like your opinion is heard. Caring for patients in the community is the best part about the job and is a great feeling to be a part of.
Pros
family feel, time out is flexible, able to crosstrain
Cons
busy or slow at times

Low pay, unfriendly management
Scheduler, Office and Hospital billing (Former Employee) –  Red Bud, ILJune 1, 2018
Red Bud Regional Hospital is a low paying, unappreciated place to work. Unfriendly staff and poor management. Employees are not valued there. Poor management is leading the corporate office in financial ruin.

The surgery department at Red Bud was great at the time I was there and I miss it a lot. We had a good crew and worked well together and had good patient outcomes.

Not a good experience
RN, Medical Surgical (Former Employee) –  Red Bud, ILFebruary 19, 2018
Poor staffing, poor patient safety, terrible equipment, no support from management. As a brand new nurse was given 8 patients on night shift with no charge nurse on duty. Very unsafe.

New grads...RUN!
RN (Former Employee) –  Red Bud, ILSeptember 13, 2017
This is NOT a nurturing, grooming environment for a new, young nurse. They will throw you to the wolves and not think twice.
If you have a few years experience. You may be ok...just kiss a##, tattle and you'll fit into the cliques.
Pros
Pay was decent
Cons
Terrible pt/ staff ratios....everyrhibg money based

management is a joke
RN (Former Employee) –  Red Bud, ILJune 21, 2017
Management is horrible..no help or support. The administration has no clue of what is really going on. The CEO, CNO and CFO are in there own little world up there on the second floor.

Management would not stand behind staff. When P.A. left practice wouldn't help staff find other areas of hospital for employment due to conflict with P.A.
Pros
hours, location
Cons
no cooperation from management

Efficiently run facility
Physical Therapist Assistant PRN (Current Employee) –  Red Bud, ILJuly 5, 2015
Get fax from fax machine. Go to the third floor therapy room. Review work list. Look up patients previous treatment. Confer with the front desk of any patient status change that may impact treatment. Management is easy to contact and communicate with. Co-workers are very helpful and informative. Hardest part of the job is the changes the patient can make from day to day. Can fluctuate from good to bad to good. Most enjoyable part of the job is be able to get to work with patients as soon as you get things ready and be able to go home when all your duties are done.

Medical Assistant (Former Employee) –  Red Bud, ILApril 24, 2015
Worked with some great people! Administration is all in their own clicks. If you kiss """" all the time, you will be fine! If you speak up and say what you feel is not right you get terminated!
Pros
Some great coworkers!
Cons
Officer managers, and Administration! No raises.

People were easy to work with had good employees.
Director of Plant Operations (Former Employee) –  Red Bud, ILApril 23, 2015
I was not to impressed with the operation of the facility lots of unreasonable budget expectations. I did not feel they had patients as a priority money seemed to outweigh most of the time.
Cons
Too many unreasonable expectations, many things were misdirected did not feel patients were their priority.

Certified Nurse Assistant (Former Employee) –  Red Bud, ILNovember 5, 2014
Learned allot from seeing patients come and go from all different towns around. People I never would have come into contact before I meet when they needed me most. Its a great feeling to help the community. Helped patients with bathing, dressing, feeding, seems easy enough but when you are unable to do it, it means the everything. There are hard parts in any day but its all enjoyable at the end of the day, when you have the accomplishment of all the good you done.

hospital germs

Small Town, Tight Knit Community, Everyone knows your business.
Admitting Officer (Former Employee) –  Red Bud, ILJanuary 10, 2013
The job itself was good. Training was excellent. Organization within the department was excellent. However, when the payroll department messed up on my pay, and I questioned it, I was promptly "laid off" and my severance pay was used to make up for the payroll departments mistake. Also, small town mentality makes for ample gossip.
Pros
overall good training within certain departments.
Cons
gossip runs amok.
