great job to be home everyday
P.M. Lead Driver (Current Employee) –  Johnson City, TNMarch 9, 2019
Not a hard job. Once you learn the locations you go to all the time. It becomes routine. Very stable enviroment. Really good benefit packages and discount programs.
Pros
home daily

some routes take 10 to 12 hours to complete

Interview process is terrible
Inside Sales/ Brokerage (Former Employee) –  Charlotte, NCJanuary 17, 2019
So I had the phone interview which went well. For the inside sales position. Then I was invited for the on site interview. All of the interviewers are Caucasian males and there is something that is disingenuous about the Vice President which interviews you second. Your supposed to be interviewed by 4 people two at a time during the onsite interview. The last interview is with the VP and some other guy. The VP doesn’t really try to get to know you and doesn’t seem down to earth. Anyway after 3 emails from HR prolonging the process about them still interviewing I was finally sent an email saying I was not selected which was fine. The pay is poor for the job description and the environment seemed liked they had a “type” they like to hire. I ended up getting a position paying $10k more per year than what they offer. I also read a review on Glassdoor that they have delayed commission checks and that review was as recent as a few months ago. So apply at your own risk!

Being an Owner Operator
Truck Driver Class A (Former Employee) –  Charlotte, NCOctober 21, 2018
Trying out being an Owner Operator. Seeing how it is picking my own load and where would I like to go as well as going home anytime I feel like it. The hardest part of the job is sometimes the dispatchers say that they don't have a load to get when in fact, they do.
Pros
Pick your own loads
Cons
Fuel and Maintence come out of pocket

Logistics Business Development (Current Employee) –  Charlotte, NCDecember 29, 2017
Don't do it. Totally not what they make it out to be. High turnover for a manager that has been there only 10 months, that must tell you something! Picks favorites and those favorites become his eyes when they are just as guilty. Sad.

Not recommended if you are a family man!!
Truck Driver Class A (Former Employee) –  Skyland, NCDecember 20, 2017
A typical day at Red Classic is 12 - 14 hrs. long. In the summertime you WILL work 65 to 70 hrs. a week! You will be working weekends also. The dispatch team does not communicate with each other. If you have a problem You have to explain it to them several times before it gets resolved. Paychecks are short all the time, if you have a shortage it takes on average an hour to get it corrected. That's EVERY week!! This is a slip seat operation. You may have to wait for the other driver to start your run.If you have a accident, you are fired after about a week off. If you work for this company, watch your paycheck!!
Pros
Good Benefits
Cons
Very poor communication with drivers

Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) –  Charlotte, NCJuly 5, 2017
The job position postings and actual job duties aren't the same. It is very misleading. No one informs you or trains you properly, just thrown into positions.
