Great people, but lack of direction and very political climate
Installation Coordinator / Purchaser (Former Employee) –  Coon Rapids, MNJune 7, 2018
In short, Reliable Garage Door offers a great situation for you to not have a micromanger in most cases. it allows you a lot of freedom within your position to accomplish your tasks.

A typical work day is very fluid, fast-paced and relentless at times.

The most enjoyable part of the job is the people. The moments and culture that your every day customers and staff provide a great sense of pride in your work and appreciation for the work you do.

The hardest part is generally speaking the very political climate and lack of direction, commitment and conviction from management.

On the whole, the company feels way understaffed for the work it is doing.
Pros
Freedoms, good compensation
Cons
Political climate, lack of direction, often overworked

Strategic Development Team (Current Employee) –  Plymouth, MNMay 30, 2017
Coming to work for Reliable Garage Door has been such a great experience for me.

The work is fully engrossing and the company culture cannot be beat.

The teamwork first mentality starts at the top and is encouraged throughout all facets of the company. I've worked for companies claiming to be customer focused and clearly falling short; here individuals whether they are employees, customers, or potential customers are all treated as valuable.

This mindset more than anything else lays the groundwork for positive work experiences on a daily basis.

I will continue to recommend Reliable Garage Door highly!

Good Experience
Service Technician (Current Employee) –  Coon Rapids, MNMay 22, 2017
Great place to gain experience if you're looking to get into a trade. They have you work with different trainers to get a variety of experience and give you your own van and tools when training is complete. Good opportunity to advance in sales if you don't mind working outside in the elements.
Pros
Good training wages, good benefits, nice people
Cons
Long hours

Office Administrator (Current Employee) –  Plymouth, MNMay 16, 2017
Reliable Garage Door is not your typical service company. We are a group of highly motivated individuals who all strive to provide an exceptional customer experience. One of the perks to working for a company like this is management does its best to set the employees up for success.

All of the service vans have a lap top, printer, ipad and internet. Tools and Insurance are provided by the company and Service Technicians get to take their vans home. Company cell phone reimbursement plans are also available.

Working in the office provides a laid back atmosphere where it is enjoyable to come to work every day. The people I work with all have a great sense of humor which makes it fun to be at work. Employees have 2 computer monitors and the freedom to work on self set goals and projects during slower call volume times.

People who have the motivation to succeed and those who hold themselves to a high standard, are the people that end up doing well within the company.
Pros
Flexibility, Family Owned and Operated, Benefits, Unlimited Resources
Cons
Consistent change

You gotta know people
Assistant Warehouse Manager (Current Employee) –  Coon Rapids, MNApril 6, 2017
If you know the right people it could be a good paying job as a service tech. Management is very new at this, and they constantly try to find someone to blame for their failures. The install department is loosing money so if you are an installer apply elsewhere because you will never get a raise.
