Working at reliable for a little over a year now and how things have changed, compensation went from having to haggle for a better rate has now been done away with, now you make what their algorithm and contract program tells the dispatcher what to give you, that’s it. And what does that usually amount to? Barely above minimum wage, with raising fuel costs, this doesn’t mean many drivers will continue working here, everyday is an unknown as to what you will make, $30, $80, $150? Who knows, they’ll send out to Akron from Cleveland for $20 with nothing to bring you back, so you have to wait, sometime hours to get something to bring you closer home or to more work. The dispatchers call you for $7 dollars jobs when it takes a hour round trip and a gallon a gas to get back and forth, leaving you with $4.50 for an hour of work. The rates they used to give were decent but now, an order that used to pay $30, now pays $18, leaving them with $12 more while leaving you quickly looking for another opportunity. There are many other couriers services that have similar contracts to reliable and don’t have the ridiculous lack of consistency. They can never hang on to dispatchers, are losing contracts and they have fat moronic dispatch supervisors that don’t just frankly don’t care about the drivers, just what his fat butt will have for lunch that day. Stay very very very far away from reliable.
