Good people, flexibility to work from home is great however the HR lacks professionalism and seem pretty lost. Great co workers and environment however the upper management needs improvement.

Poorly managed operations with little regard for field workers. Typical contractor like a dyncorp or calliburton. The paycheck is adequate but by no means attractive. Daily wage is similar to work in the states but you work 7 days/wk which offers a couple extra days of pay--if you stay a year you get a tax break. Disparity between corporate and field workers is typical. Poorly managed work sites with less than adequate and skilled site managers. Great for medics who want to learn diagnostic medicine in a clinic setting; not great for patients. Get your coping skills on point because you're on your own. Physicians on call are helpful and available.

Lack of communication is a big problem at this company, it's been brought up so many times its now a joke among the associates and other Leaders. Executives seem disconnected from the direction of the company and their workers. They are also payed in crazy amounts more then the individuals who are more knowledgable about the field and do the ground work for projects. Raises are rare.

No diversity or encouragement for career advancements what so ever. Most higher paying positions get filled instantly by friends of the executives. Lots of turnover with a lot more to come if things don't get fixed fast.

HR Executive is extremely extremely unprofessional and tends to openly trash talk current workers and past ones that have left. Brought up multiple issues to HR about sexist comments which were brushed off as miscommunication (She did nothing to fix this). Very disappointed.

During my "exit interview" I was basically attacked by HR regarding personal matters that had nothing to do with me. But that is her style after all.

Working remote is an option, but be careful because some executives and managers from other departments will automatically mark this against you by just assuming you're not actually working if you are not physically in the office. Basically devalues the actual work you are doing and is very frustrating which makes life work balance even more impossible because you will be working at odd hours pretty often due to the company being internationally ran.

No growth for your future. New employees are found to be paid more then ones that have been working

RMI was relatively well run and a fun place to work when I started. By the time I left, it was being run into the ground by poor management, employee attrition, and rampant nepotism.

New manager had a chip on his shoulder, managed under threat of termination, created situations to gain power over employees, He was under qualified and had an inflated ego. Company floods the internet with Medic jobs that don't exist in order to create lists. Favoritism is used to determine who gets an overseas job. Project managers strut around the office like they created the sun and the moon. The medical director was an egotistical guy who couldn't make up his mind how he wanted things done. Remote Medical has a LONG uphill battle if they want to stay in business. The majority of their business is single deployed medics, and subscription telemedicine advice.
Pros
you can bring your dog to work
Cons
EGO rich environment, large turnover, no advancement opportunities.

Schedule is not ideal for pay. Hard to preform duties due to micro management and inference from outside influences. Work/life balance non-existent. Weather extremes and poor billeting usually depending on the FOB
Pros
food/travel stipend/housing paid for
Cons
long hours, middle of the night calls that are not paid

I loved the job.
Best medical director I ever had the privilege to work under.

I was proud to have had the opportunity to work with such an involved provider.

Disorganized and a shell of a company. They do not do what they say and will leave an employee stranded on the other side of the planet. The supervisors will have affairs with students in the classes.

Advancement opportunities are limited. The business is quickly growing but new hires are mostly external. New employees are getting paid more than employees in the same position who have been here for 2+ years. Low-level employees feel underpaid, overworked, and taken for granted. For those willing to stick it out, Remote Medical may have a very bright future based on current business development initiatives.
Pros
Fast Growing Company, incredible & talented group of employees
Cons
Very low pay

Great outfit to work for but it is contract based and each contract varies a lot.

If there are no contracts available, you don't work but that is the nature of the industry.

One of the few places that offers full benefits for field medics.

Very strong medical control and office support
Pros
Keep you working as much as possible, hire as a benefited employee
Cons
Contract based so little stability, away from home 99% of the time

CEO struggles to stay focused on the day to day activities of the company. He appears very disconnected from his direct report team and doesn't seem to understand basic project management and task prioritization. While there are many great people at the company, progress is held back by a lack of leadership and direction.
Pros
Good people and supportive investors
Cons
CEO is disconnected

Great Place to work but job are only available when they are available, which leaves you unemployed. Over all great company when the work is there and they will support you in what ever way possible.

RMI is a good company to work for but the specific contract you are on dictates how life on the ground is. If you are on a tough site, it can be tough work.

There is also little security as you working 100% depends on an available contract.

Awesome and challenging experience. Felt like I made a difference in people's lives. RMI offers benefits and has a high quality medical program. If you are a high speed medic, this is the place for you.

Great group of people at the head office. Not many people stay past 5. Lots of room for innovation and bringing new ideas to the table. I really enjoy working here.

This company has a lot of growing to do, and they may need to look at different management to accomplish those goals. I liked a lot of the people, but some people are paid more than they deserve while others eek by despite being the hardest working.
