Machine Operator/Material Handler, Halifax County, NC - January 30, 2018
A day in the life of a Reser's Fine Foods employee -and I'm sure most would agree- is that its very cold. In order to maintain good quality of the foods being processed, temperature must be kept at a low 20-30 degrees. There were cases of employees who needed medical assistance from within the plant who were brought out by ambulance. Because of this temperature: heart attacks, seizures, pneumonia, carpel tunnel, common head and chest colds along with developing arthritis were considered "typical" and management didn't seem to much to care. While working there I learned how to operate the Delkor, a machine that processed different brands of foods. The most difficult part throughout the day -again- was the climate of the area and for me the most easiest was inspecting various products.
