Triage Nurse in Fli

Triage RN
I’ve been with this company as a triage nurse for 6 months working remotely. My schedule is 7 on and 7 off. I love the job and my after hours team. My supervisor is amazing and supports her triage team. I love the fact that my position is totally remote from home especially during this COVID pandemic. I don’t see myself leaving anytime soon.

Office restructuring made it a confusing mess
Constant office staff changes over the past year have been extremely frustrating, high turnover due to this has gotten somewhat better recently. You will have absolutely no work/home balance. 6pm on a Sunday? You’ll be calling your patients for the next day. 9 pm on a Friday? You’re finishing your documentation for the day.

Worst
Run! Backstabbers and fools...the blind leading the blind. So sad that a wonderful company turned so bad, so fast. All supervisor's need to be canned. They are quick to be friends, but will turn in a second. I have actually had supervisor's fill in for my home visits and they end up harming (i.e. opening up wounds) the patient. Then will blame you even though the patient is completely with it. Some "nurse managers" have NEVER done patient care. What a joke.

Think twice before working here
This used to be a wonderful company to work for. Not so anymore. Management has no regard for the concerns of the field staff. New nurses are “thrown out” on their own and overloaded with patients too quickly, causing a large turnover. Upper management continues to take new referrals, despite not having enough staff to start, or even case manage these patients. Patients are no longer receiving the excellent care they deserve because the field staff are completely overwhelmed. Numerous customer service issues are left to be handled by the field staff. Compensatory bonuses just taken away, as well as decrease in the fee for certain required visits. The pay seems good until you actually factor in the amount of “after-hours” work that is done on a regular basis. NO SUPPORT from management. Ethical problems, such as not paying field staff for the visits they have already been forced to do “on paper.” Home health is a demanding field for nursing, but this company has made it impossible with their lack of regard for their staff. Sadly, I would not recommend this company to patients or professionals.

Excellent learning environment
It’s an excellent place to work. Staff are helpful and supportive and you feel like you are part of the team. It also gives you a sense of pride being able to help patients who are home bound due to medical illnesses and other unfortunate events that are out of their control.
