Great Place to Work
Manager (Former Employee) –  MarylandSeptember 30, 2018
Residential One is one of my favorite places to work. Hard work is recognized, acknowledged and rewarded. Managers, at every level, including the Regionals, VP and President are extremely responsive to emails and text messages. They support your role and guide employees through processes to ensure competence. You are never alone. Your growth with the company is totally up to you. While with the company, I was promoted several times and enjoyed each role. Learned so much from everyone.
My coworkers were awesome too. We assisted each other willingly and collaborated to complete projects. Questions about daily operations were readily answered by colleagues or management.

I am especially thankful for the company’s support and trust as I evolved through life stages yet continued to grow professionally.

Overall, just a great company!
Pros
Awesome support from colleagues and managers, great opportunity for advancement
Cons
Formal Training, however SOP learned and supported on the job

Very busy and lots of pressure
Leasing Consultant (Former Employee) –  Wheaton, MDMarch 14, 2018
It was not amicable at all. Low pay and a horrible commute to work. Poor management. There was always new employees that lasted only 1 week or less because of all the work that there was to be done due to lack of maintenance and management.

They switched property managers three times in less than a year. All of them only caring about themselves. Dangerous conditions. Low pay. Overall bad place to have to work. They had us work overnight and didn’t pay us for the time.

Assistant Property Manager- 209 Units (Current Employee) –  Washington, DCJanuary 22, 2018
Great Manager always willing to pitch in and help. Timely responses to emails and dedicated maintenance staff between three properties. Positive attitudes in the office and occasionally lunch was provided by the manager as a sign of appreciation for all that the staff does.

Catch the vision or Remain the same company with a new name
Property Manager (Current Employee) –  Columbia, MDOctober 16, 2016
Great place to work, the executive team is supportive of your goals as long as it's a positive to the bottom line.

Communication could improve, but it's important for employees to remember their important roles and focus on successful completion.

The company at one time had a family feel, kinda like cheers...you appreciated everyone and their roles for making your property succeed. That's changed a tad.

New president and VP, my honest opinion they are awesome and amazing guys. The vision for the company's potential is unlimited. Pending everyone works together for the common goal.

Low score in the advancement department as most people are not challenged in their roles to actually qualify for an advancement or ones that have plateau are at a stand still. Recommended creating roving teams for your top performers to assist new managers or troubled communities.

Job security is great because most will do just enough to receive a praise or say they did it when they are able to do more. Sorry, you will never be great being mediocre.

Work life balance depends upon the person, if you seek to perform at a higher level than average. Make it happen, if not, you are comfortable with doing just enough if it's allowed. Suggestion ignite folks to bring your properties to a level never imagined.

Also, raise the level of expectations with standards and result driven goals. Creating harmony and focus on the vision.

👍👍Best success to the company Rockstars!
Pros
Personable, Honest, Fun, Supportive to a extent
Cons
Train up (train your staff upward, instead of maintaining a specific task), revamp your training, inspire your leaders instead of motivating, offer quaterly excellence vs. Yearly

Management (Current Employee) –  Washington, DCAugust 23, 2016
Company is growing rapidly which means alot of opportunity for people who are flexible and willing to try new things. New leadership has big plans and are willing to support employees' professional growth. I like that there is promotion from within the company and have benefited from it.
Pros
Lots of training opportunities and new technology
Cons
Need more consistent communication from Corporate about policies.

Company has potential but who's in charge?
Asst. Property Manager/Leasing (Current Employee) –  MarylandJune 7, 2016
Company is pretty laid back overall, but its hard to tell who runs things in the executive office. If the company could improve on one thing immediately it should be pay, or turnover will continue to be high.
Pros
Free lunch at corporate trainings, flexbile and accomidating to family life
Cons
pay, just switched from blue cross to kaiser which is more money for less service
