Be wary of the e-commerce/ web team

Friendly sales, customer service, buyers, and warehouse workers. 40 hour work weeks with no expectation for overtime. You are expected to work on lots of different projects. However, there is poor leadership on the web team. There are no processes or training for e-commerce. They offer lower than average pay. Office is dirty with poor ventilation. There are water stains on the ceiling and the floor shakes frequently due to moving of large equipment. The do not allow working from home. There is a lack of leadership on the e-commerce/web team. All of the original web team members quit when the new Director of E-Commerce started at Restaurant Equippers and now management is hiring predominately contractors. I highly recommend Restaurant Equippers hire a lot more full-time staff to improve the website.

Nice Place to work

people friendly and always willing to help you grow. I liked the climate controlled building . I could ask any manager for help and they would always be willing to help.

Great place

Working as an account executive means performing extensive research and learning all about the client's products, marketing goals and needs. Often, account executives choose a targeted group, create an advertising concept, and develop a promotional campaign after becoming familiar with the company's product.

Management is terrible.

The company itself was good. The benefits were really good. It was the management wherein the problem lies. The store manager has an ego the size of Texas. His flunky, the sales manager is no better. As long as you can plaster a fake smile on your face, you are golden here. It is his way or the highway. Don't disagree with him or freely think for yourself or you will feel the wrath of the Fuhrer. Do yourself a favor and and don't apply here.

Hot, wear you out, unloading by hand, for peanuts

Definitely not worth the work they expect from you and they will string you along. Dont expect to get hired, dont expect 40hrs, and dont even bother asking for more money

Pros

They feed you occasionally

Cons

No overtime, hard labor, cheap wages, and you wont get hired full time

NOT a place for IT people

If you're not part of the family or dont come from a restaurant background then they dont understand you. Most of the management has been brought in from what they deem to be similar industries (not true) and given carte-blanc to steamroll everyone else.

Un ambiente increíble. Todos eramos muy unidos. Aprendí a manejar maquinaria pesada. La parte mas difícil fue aprender a leer las ordenes que requería la fabrica. En nuestros tiempos libres jugábamos americano.

A toxic work environment created solely by the management

Easy work but the management will make you hate going to work everyday. The staff is the best. some of the greatest people in the world to work with but the management couldn't manage their way out of a wet paper bag. No people skills and a lack of overall personality by every single manager makes the employee's hate working there. The hardest thing about the job is being mentally strong enough to deal with incompetent management on the daily basis. The worse part of it all is they really believe they are the smartest people in the room and none of them has a clue.

Pros

Good people on staff to work with

Cons

inept and unprofessional management team

Supportive CoWorkers and Good Life/Work Balance

The most enjoyable part of the job is facing difficult logistical needs and making it work. Serving our customer base who are,in fact, in customer service themselves can prove daunting. The expectations are high and working with their timelines can be difficult. However, it is rewarding. The customers are very appreciative. Management always allows for a solid life/work balance. At times it is necessary to "wear many different hats," and this leads to a diverse set of responsibilities but you are given the room to make it work. I would recommend this company to self starters and people who require little supervision. Due to the nature of the job, at times, you have to work independently.

Pros

Hour Lunch, Work/Life Balance

Cons

Corporate Organization/Communication

Terrible!

You will be treated like dirt, like an idiot, like a 3 year old. Management tries to motivate through fear. NOT a positive environment. People appear to hate each other and hate the job. Nobody is nice. Nobody smiles. You will hear a manager yelling at staff over the company intercom. Your bathroom breaks are monitored. The manager will stand over you while you are on a call. The manager will question every detail and tell you that you are too slow. There is no structure. Managers have not ever read "how to be a good manager" or "how to be successful in business" or "how to create a positive working environment" - they do not care. We didn't get a raise for 3 years but they opened another store? The website is horrible. Customers called to complain about it all the time. The business kept growing but they refused to hire staff, so everyone is overworked and expected to take 90+ calls a day. TOXIC!
